jodejjr39459.6512152778Jodie i haven't been keeping up on what is going on but why doesn't your mother think your daughter will be able to breastfeed? There shouldn't be a problem unless she can't produce enough milk if that is the case the dr will suggest that she supplements with formula but still give the baby breastmilk too. memeDamn she sounds like my mother. I had a c-section with both boys. When the first one was born, my mother told me I could not breastfeed him because of the surgery, and also because breastfeeding causes fibromyalgia (and this woman is a NURSE!). She also told me that since I was nursing him on demand, I had already spoiled him (he was 4 days old). Oh, and I needed to lose weight (I had about 20 pounds extra after the baby) and get a haircut or my man would leave me and steal the baby.

some dementia. I know it's hard but please don't take what she says
personally---people with dementia can just be mean. It's terrible you are
having such a hard time---you really have more than your share on your
plate. Is it possible to apply for some respite from somewhere? Either state
funded or volunteer driven? Even having a few hours to go to a movie or
walk or coffee with friends can help "reset" to where you can deal with
things better.

Gimpy is right you can contact the division on aging in your county and they can help provide help with your mother even take her to her appointments and take her out of the house to go to the mall, shopping, etc. just to give you some peace and quiet. There may even be a senior center where your mom can go for a few hours a day to get here out of your hair and the state may pay for it. I am sorry this is going on for both you and daughter, hang in there rememeber we are here for you. meme

I know when you take select drugs that you can't breast feed your child as they too will get the drug in their system.
