prednisone and abdominal cramps | Arthritis Information

 

Can Anyone help?

I have controlled the pain and fatigue from PMR on 121/2 mg now.  My problem is severe cramping, bloating, and some diarrhea.  Anyone else experience this?

Hi Mutsy,
yes, pred can cause these problems and they are listed along with the other possible side effects. I had the bloating and some gut upset, but not as bad as yours sounds. I think if the cramping is severe you should tell your doc. I hope you feel better soon.
I have the same thing, Mutsy. lots of stomach problems, bloating like you can't believe, cramps, pain, diarea, and then constipation.
do not know for sure if it comes from the pmr or the pred.
Chico says it could and she does a lot of investigating.
