Jode, I am so sorry that you are going through this.  I do record what I take for the vicodin and how many I have left, but confronting your mother will not help.  She will become beligerant and combative.

#1 Can you lock your bedroom door at night?  It will provide a more santuary atmosphere for you to sleep in.

#2 Can you lock up all pills at night?  I know that it is inconvienent, but for her safety and yours....she has got to stay out of them.

This is scary on a couple of levels.  If she is self-medicating with your pills...then her chances of OD is high.  Also, these are perscribed narcotics and if she OD's you could bare the burden of that too.  Be proactive with this and fix the lock or find something to lock them up with, because you will sleep better, and she will be safe.  If she is having a hard time sleeping...she needs to speak with her doctor.

Hope this helps.  As far as hair falling out...try to eat more protein.  This will help the manufacturing of stronger locks.  I am so sorry for you.

Thanks Shelly.

jodejjr39459.6504282407 Definitely not OT - many of us have strong/dangerous meds that need to be kept away from various people for various reasons.

Jode, do the same thing we do with medicines to keep them out of the hands of small children and thieving relatives (I've got 'em too): get a locking toolbox with a combination lock.  That way there are no keys to keep track of.  If you're worried you'll lose the combination, you can write it down somewhere where mom will never find it.  Send it to yourself in an email; put it between your mattress and boxspring; tape it under the kitchen table; anywhere you can get to but she can't.  JasmineRain39443.2889351852Oh and I painted my toolbox hot pink and put all sorts of girlie decals on it... that keeps the boys away too!! I'd move the pills to another safer location, but the leave container she has been looting right where it always is.  She will keep finding it empty, thinking you already took it.  She probably won't think to look elsewhere for the pills.
