Hard swelling big knot? | Arthritis Information

Allright most of the time my swelling areas are fliud like not a big hard knot. This is my left shoulder that has not really been a player yet to any comparison to the rest of my joints this flare. My left ankle was acting up last night but the swelling in the ankle is so far responding to the pred better than the shoulder. Now my right shoulder was badly swollen and the tendon got really stiff but it was not like rock hard. I had a ganglion cyst that grew under a tendon a few years back. So i am guessing it is hard as it is swelling under the tendon? Does anyone have any other ideas as to why this swelling is harder than most of the swelling i get. I hope it is not a ganglion cyst under the tendon. The ankle one is smaller and does look like it could be a ganglion. But is out sidde of the tendon. I assure you the pain issue is better if it is on the outside of the tendon as opposed to the under side. I thought maybe the allergic reaction set off some cyst to form. As my last one was an adverse reaction to advil. Or is it as the Arava is leaving my body my allergie is getting better and the RA swelling is coming on strong? As i was flairng pretty good when i started the Arava. Anyway these two places are the angriest ones and they had been having some pain in joints but have seemed so far to leaving me alone a bit. The other shoulder which has been very cruel to me is not as bad as the left one. My ankles have had there throbbing moments but have so far not been a bigger problem. I was wondering why they had been so kind this time around as they are often my first sign of a flare actually they did try pretty hard at first but i was on the 60 mg pred when they tried before. Do not want to do that again if i do not have to. Well i am out of joints to flare , does this mean i am done flaring after these new places get to throw what they have at me? I think that sounds fair. Every place had it's turn i can quit flaring for awhile.

hI Milly, I think it sounds fair, but I have found out in the last few years that this disease isn't fair; AT ALL!

I hope you get to feeling better soon.

take care

I am four months into this flare at the moment. This is getting a little on the old side if you know what i mean.
