Can you buy CALCIUM/MALIC ACID/MAGNESIUM in one form or is this two or three different meds. I didn't have much luck finding it as one on-line.

thanks

I thought malic acid was just to keep the calcium from clumping. I do know there is a tea called Calm that is a formula of cal mag. If you google it type in calm tea calcium magnessium. There is another tea called calm..This one is one of three formulas and is packed in tall tin cans like Republic of Tea. One of my doctors sells it in her office and I have seen it in Health food stores....I'm guessing here as I haven't looked for these supplements, but the
basic chemistry is that when we take minerals like calcium and
magnesium we can't take them in the metal form as they simply wouldn't
be absorbed by the body. We have to take them combined with
something else. Lots are sold combined with malic acid, and calcium
combined with malic acid would be called calcium maleate, magnesium
would be magnesium maleate. I don't think the maleate part (the bit that
comes from the malic acid) has any therapeutic properties - so that ties
in with the tea that Smartie is referring to.

It's like the salt we use to season food, it's chemical name is sodium
chloride, and it's a compound of sodium and hydrochloric acid.   Both
sodium and hydrochloric acid would be highly undesirable things to
swallow on their own (sodium bursts into flame in contact with water, and
hydrochloric acid is very corrosive), but together they are fine.

Hope that makes sense.
