I'm sorry that this is the reason for my visit here today, but I know many friends that used to belong to RA Friends came over here after the board shut down.

Laurie, also known as Hula on-line to many, passed away in her sleep New Years Day in the morning.  She had been hospitalized late last year and we had been hopeful as she was finally able to be released to home care, but after not hearing from her for some time, we finally received word from her friend.

I just thought some of her past RA friends might want to know.

What sad news.  She was a wonderful woman, no doubt about it.  OMG!!!! I have been wondering about her.  Do they know what happened?  So very sad.I haven't been on for a while but I remember her from another site. She was young---does anyone know what happened???    So sad indeed.

MarcyI am not familiar with Hula but am so sorry to hear this. What a terrible
thing for her family and friends. Thank you for sharing this info.

Hello Irish I have missed you and Hula. Thank You for letting us know she has passed. I hope with all my heart she is happy and pain free.

Hugs

She is in a better place and pain free.

I will post more information as I get it.  The only thing we know right now is that she died in her sleep yesterday morning in Hawaii.  I am so sorry for the family"s loss and to all her friends. I truly wish I would have know her in cyber space>  God speed         & nbsp;         & nbsp;         & nbsp;         & nbsp;     apeanut                                                                               She was a truly awesome person and will be very sadly missed by all her friends. I looked back on some of her posts and she had just been diagnosed in 07.
She also had Hep B but didn't think that would cut her life short. Does
anyone know how old she was? She must have had something else going
on. How sad.

I think there was more than one Hula here. I think you are referring to a Hula Girl. That wasn't our Hula (Laurie).

She was a dear friend and I will miss her very much. I pray that she knew how much I admired her strength.

Rest in Peace Dear Lady. Those who knew you will be forever touched by your life.

That is so sad. My prayers and thoughts with the family. She is in a much better place than here with all the pain and agony.

I am so very sorry for the loss. This is a frightening disease.

Thanks Irish for letting us know. I have missed you both very much and had tried to find out how you were doing. I'm so sad about Hula's death.Laurie was very dear to me.  When I was down, we would spend hours on the phone laughing literally at what gimps we were.  My path has been very similar to Lauries but she was so much stronger than I am and was always able to distract herself by making others smile.  I am so sorry to hear of Hula's passing. I hope she is now at peace, and I hope her family can find some comfort.Lovie - Are you sure??????????????  I pray it is not Laurie.  Are you still in touch with her?  Please let me know.

Yea now im confused on which one is which

Yes; it was the original Hula that we all knew and loved from the earlier sites such as RAFriends. That Laurie.

Yes; I had been in touch with her often over the last couple years.

Yes....Sadly; we're certain.

Thanks Lovie, thats who I thought it was.  How sad indeed.

How old was she?

She was 56.

IT IS FUNNY HOW MANY PEOPLE SHE TOUCHED SHE HAS BEEN THERE FOR ME FOR OVER THE LAST 2 YRS EVER SINCE i GOT SICK SHE REACHED OUT TO ME AND WOULD LISTEN THROUGH ALL THOSE SCARY FLARES AT FIRST AND CONFUSION AND LIKE HER I HAVE FAILED EVERY DRUG SO FAR I REALLY MISS HER AND AM PROUD TO CALL HER MY FRIEND.........TERESA

Sadly, I never got a chance to know this dear woman. From the beautiful testaments here, she must have been one of a kind. It's good to know that she touched so many of your hearts.

Just remember her kindmess and loving spirit and she will always be among us...carried in your hearts.

My sincere condolences to her family and to you, her many friends on the various RA boards. It sounds as though she was indeed an inspirition to many, many people.

May she rest peacefully in the hand of God.

Well... I can say she will no longer be kept awake by the neighbors roosters. Yeah... I remember the rooster fiasco.

I still have my cheese cake avatar she made me

I didn't know this lady and I'm very sorry for her family and friends. I was just thinking of what a wonderful testimony her life has been to others...I would love to have known her too.

She will be missed.

Yeah... Shannon... I hope rooster do not get to go up to heaven either.

Hula and I had a great e-mail talk one day about my eldest cat Miss HissyFit. Miss Hissy's kidneys failed and she was put to sleep January 2 2008. Since Hula was a fan of Miss Hissy, I'm sure they will look each other up in heaven.

God Bless them both.

P.S. My naughty avatar the Chesire Cat was a gift from Hula. While there are no crowing roosters waking people up in heaven, there are cats.

I miss them both.

Marian. I'm so sorry about Miss Hissy. Our kitty Panda was put to sleep one
year ago. She also had kidney failure. She was 17.BUMP

I didn't know Hula at all but I'm touched by how much her passing has affected so many of you.  She must have been very special.  She's at peace and pain-free now so my hugs will be for those of you that cared for her.

BUMP I DO NOT WANT ANYBODY TO FORGET THIS WONDERFULL WOMAN SO I WILL KEEP THIS POST GOING SHE TOUCHED SO MANY PEOPLE BUT YET NEVER COMPLAINING HOW MUCH PAIN SHE WAS IN......TERESABUMPWhat did she die from???I am very sorry to hear that.  I didn't get the chance to speak with her here, but my prayers go out to all family and friends.Just wondered if anyone ever found out anything more about her passing.
