Hi, I'm also new to this forum.  I started with a pain in my elbow joint. The doctor said it was tendonitus and just left it at that. Since that visit I have had, tingling fingers, constant pain in the area between my thumb and pointer finger, hands that fall asleep, arms ache, and pain in my heel. Oh, and a clicking thumb joint. I have an appt with a rheumatologist later this month. I've been taking otc medication but that only helps minimally. My pain is worse in the morning, but really never goes away. Can anyone else relate to this. I'm 56 yrs old

Robyn - welcome aboard.  I am 51.  Good luck with your doctor's appointment and I hope you find alot of good advice and support from the members in here.  Cathy

Hi Robyn,

WELCOME   I hope you find out it just tendonitus for your sake. Because I don't wish this pain on anyone   JoAnnNew to site.    and I love to shop when I can.    I can't participate in sports but I can now play the Nnitendo WII and simulate the sport.  My eyes are effected too.  I have a form of arthritis in each eye.  I also have cataracts which I plan to have removed. The good news is that I can see.    Life is not hopeless, but hopeful.  I work a 10 hrs work day; 4 days a week at a demanding job.  I'm overweight.  But I've loss some of it before and will again.  But I wouldn't focus on weight, pain and difficults.  Concentrate on what you can do.  Attitude is everything.  It is what has kept me going.   I have a team of doctors.  Yes, expensive.  Thank god for group health insurance.  But it is the team that counts when you have a chonic disease like this.  They all work together to make sure that the diease doesn't progress.  I was diagnosed in the dark ages.  Today, medicine has progressed and if you listen to your body you can take charge of the way you are treated.  Find a Doctor that will work with you.  Not tell you to accept what they say.  Do research.  Have a discussion with them.  If the specialist doesn't treat your comments as important walk away.  Find another doctor.  Their arrogance doesn't help you.

Sorry for the mis-spelling.  I'm typing on my laptop in my lap and it's late.  Hope my story helps someone.  I'll be looking in sometimes to make comments.  Good luck to you all.
By the way, pain in elbows could be a lot of things not necessarily arthritis.  But do you carry a heavy pursue?  Pick up Children, spend a lot of time with your arms in a 90 degree angle.  If so, you probably are compressing the nerves which is why there is numbness.  I have it in both hands.  I have it more when I carry heavy object, hit my arm against something.  Range of motion exercises can help.  No weights.  It it persisit, see a specialist.  They will possible order a EMG.  A EMG is painfull
