I know when my pred is too high, when I start to get a lot of juicy pimples on my scalp. I was getting them alot before I bumped myself down to 5mg of pred... was on 10mg. Does anyone else get this? I think i got mine a little lower last time i cut back on pred. Diet soda makes my head break out in hives and itch so crazy. I will try to keep track of any pimples i am lowering pred today actually. I am having mostly rashes dry stuff a bit. Its been a while since I was on prednisone but I do remember that it definitely affected my skin. I hated that. Metho affects your skin too---it makes it really really thin.
There is great product that Walmart sells called Acne Free--its a 3 part system. Cleanser, toner and lotion---it works really really well. I have been using it for a couple years now.Hmm, I've been on MTX since Aug 06, but have just started with these scalp pimples on occasion in the last few months. I have more pimples on my face now than I did when I was a kid! Not sure if the changes in my skin are from MTX or my wacky hormones from 3 failed pregnancies -- my last miscarriage was 6 months before my RA dx.
