I am NEVER cleaning house AGAIN! | Arthritis Information

So, I cleaned up my room yesterday. It took me over 4 hours to do it all. Then towards the end I had hubby help me, and had daughter fold all the clean clothes that were in the baskets in my room.

Man!! I am NEVER doing it AGAIN!

I did sooo much bending over that after a while my legs would shake uncontrollably when I would bend over. Hence why hubby had to help me towards the end. I could no longer bend over to sweep up the floor.

Today... I woke up and my lower back, hips and thighs are so sore. The muscles are soo sore, that is hurts to sit or walk or even stand.

It feels like I have done a lot of squats, but all I done was bend over and pick stuff up outta the floor. I even rested for about 10-15 mins when I felt tired, that is why it took me over 4 hours to clean my room.

Man... it hurts to get up to a standing position. This sucks!

Katie... good idea, as well. Except, I am kinda one of them people who needs to finish what I started and when I feel well, it is kinda hard for me to stop; I hate to leave something I started half-assed. It will nag at me until I give in and finish it, if I just do a little of it.

I did get daughter to fold clothes. She has been folding clothes all week. My left shoulder when I use it makes this weird noise and I can feel it grinding. Nope not even gonna mention it to the RD. Nope, not gonna happen, until I have some sort of pain or problem out of it, like I did with my hip. Yep only then will I mention it.

I got a burning sensation in my right buttocks now. Stupid cleaning!

It is hard to keep my house clean with my son around, plus hubby is not much help in the helping keep it clean. I mean I will pick up the living room, and go in my room to rest and wake up the next day with it looking worse than before I picked up the living room. And it was only hubby and son in the living room.

He does help when he gets tired of looking at it. He does not fuss at me for the house being a mess. He use to before I got soo bad off, now he just deals with it or does it himself. I try to help out when I feel I can do some thing.

I need to get a husband that does dishes. Well prevenitive cleaning works if you can get the whole family envolved. Other wise i do not see how that could work. As for that burning feeling i wonder what it is. My back muscles where all warm something i do not remember doing before. Not sure if it is good or bad. Like did they just get blood in them and it is good or and i going to flare? As i have actually not been swelling for two days i think two or maybe three days. Except one twinge in the ankle and a bit of fibro stuff in the chest. But i noticed at first muscles were sore just to touch. Like they said this has all been very hard on me leave me alone. But now they do not hurt if i touch them.

The burning sensation is in the same side as my hip that I have been having problems with. So... it might be from my hip. I have like this weird big "lump" on the outter side of my right thigh. I noticed it when I started have problems with my right thigh/hip area, and it went away for a little while and now it is back. It is like a bulge, but it is soft and fills like it is filled with a fluid. It is werid none the less.

HAs doctor actually seen it?Joonie the bulge that swells up on the hip is the bursa. It swells up when I have burstitis and they do an ultrasound on the bursa so that the cortisone shot can be put in the right place.Hmmm maybe even ganglion cyst like sounding. Them are water filled cyst. Can be a pain and can hurt when to big. Usually not much more than a pain. Had a giant one on my leg once had to have it surgically removed twice drained a bunch. But i get in foot and just wait it out and it goes away. But i do not know? The burning sounds like a pinched nerve maybe. Maybr have lump looked at and see a chiropracter. What did your bonescan say?Anyway if it is a ganglion they attach to tendons and can cause tendon pain of a firbro type i get them tahts what they do if that is what you have i do not know for sure. And it just depends where you get them and how bad they bother you as to treatment. Some you can wait out some not. I know a lady says she had one pushing on an artery once. First one i ever had turned out my dinner guest was an exspert on the subject as her and her mom get them everywhere. But a really super rare thing happened to my ex's daughter. She had a rare form of cancer and the docs had told her ganglion cyst just drain and her brother insisted remaval and her brother saved her life as she was 12 and had a rare deadly form of cancer and would have died in six months had it just been drained. But that is rare, rare.

Hummm... nope never told RD about the "lump". I just figured it was part of the muscle spasm problem I was having and seem to still have. My muscle on my right leg is still tight as heck and that is what is causing my hip pain. So maybe it is just tendonitis.

Oh I have not heard back about my bone scan yet. I think RD was not open back up until this week or it might be next week. I just know she was taking a LONG holiday and going to visit her family in Puerto Rico for the holidays. And I had the bone can done on the 20th of December, and she was going out of town that same week. So... she probably has not even looked at my bone scan report yet. Besides the hospital said they would get the report to her in 48 - 72 hours.

Well... I have to make an appt with my regular Doctor, and I will tell her about it then. I know she will touch the "lump" on my thigh.

I just know I cannot move my hip very well. And the limited ROM in my hip about kills me. Because I cannot move move my leg outward. You know like when you do the splits... how your legs are strecthed out... that movement? Well... my hip gives me great pain if I move my leg into any position like that. Like straddling something causes my hip to hurt. Not that I straddle anything but that movement of my leg causes pain and I cannot do that movement much because it is very limited.

Yes i have buttocks actual vibrating. They did bonescan of my tushy years ago nothing. It is going all down my leg and to my foot. Fibro i think, i went to chiropracters this is one they never fixed. I get RA in my hip and fibro in my bottom. I was moving leg all around to see if it wasn't the room or the couch vibrating no it is  my bottom anyway it is sending a current down my leg but it does not hurt just strange. Must be a twitching really good to vibrate is strange. Now my back muscle is twitching how really wierd. But i do not feel like i am flaring? Oh i hurt my knee today. I went to take a bath and had water running. Wash rags werein the dryer i thought. Went to basement and they were in the washing machine i forgot to dry. So i start putting everything in the dryer. Then i remember yesterday i had left the bath water running and was farting around with laundry and almost over ran tub, so i go running upstairs and hurt my knee. Isn't it great i could run upstairs. My right hip is swelled. I cannot feel my hip bone on the outside again. I also hurt my hip last night while I was cleaning my room. I almost fell and my right leg got twisted and when your leg twists so does your hip. Oh that was sheer pain. But the twitching was long before last night. It is just twitching again, it had went away just like the "lump" did, but both are back.

if it was me I would have forgotten about the water running and then realized it was running and by the time I got to it and entered into the room, it would have been overflowing everywhere. Yeah... even with Remicade I still walk slow and do not move very fast. BUT! There a BUT!

I do walk more upright so my mommy and sister says! See there always a positive for the negative. Well... most times.

Hope your knee gets better and and the "sprain" goes away real soon.

I'd join you in your housework rebellion just out of solidarity except that it would drive me crazy to be in a messy house all the time.  So I'm voting that you take some of the advice and put the kids and husband to work and do your housework a little everyday.

I haven't been around much these days, sorry to see that you aren't feeling so well.  Remicade isn't doing the trick?  Or is it too soon to tell?  Take care of yourself Joonie.  And remember, a messy house is just a messy house.  It'll wait for ya. Don't sweat it.

Joonie. have you looked at the Flylady website?

http://www.flylady.net/index.asp

Her whole idea is that you're never behind. The ideas are very easy to adapt for RA.. I've been doing it about a year and consequently my house is tidy, if not "deep" clean.  I used to get in over my head and clean all day.. now I just dont need to..

she's a little goofy about some things, but as with any and all advice, take what you need and leave the rest. For instance she goes on and on about  getting dressed all the way to "tie" shoes.. it's not going to happen in my life time. I do wear footwear but not something I need help wearing. same with geting up  and getting going immediately.. no.. I am stiff in the morning. I get going about 9.. if she doesn't like it she can come and do my house. I figure if I need help wiping my behind at 7 am  then I dont have to do housework before 9.

Oh and bursitis is the PITS  I am on my 3rd cortisone shot for bursitis in my hip. I really managed to injure it during  "pt" yeah right they help.

Kathy, yes the flylady website has alot of GREAT ideas on helping to get your house clean and organized so you DONT have to spend all day cleaning one room.  Even though they are targeted for "normal" people there are ways to make them work for us and it would make it so much easier for us.  But we have suggested this to Joonie many other times and she doesnt want the suggestions.  All she wants to do is do it her way and not accecept that certain things you need to let go of and change them becuase you are no longer capable of doing it the way you did before.  While that doesnt mean that you have to stop doing what you were doing and have other people do it for you, you have to ADJUST to the fact that its not going to be the way it was before and certain things need to be changed.  I hate be be blunt about all this but this is an ongoing conversation w/ her and I have a real hard time giving anyone sympathy when they know what they should do but continue to do the same thing over and over again knowing that they are going to be in a lot of pain afterwards.  Now im not saying that Ive never done this...But I'm not going to do it knowing how im going to feel later and complain about it when its my own doing.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone.

My muscles in my legs are still sore, but does not hurt when I sit down or anything else. Now it just feels like I done one to many squats
