Remicade..How long? | Arthritis Information

 

Hello everyone. First post.

I recently started Remicade (5 weeks ago) and have had no response. Unlike Humira, which I received a response within 1 week.

How long, typically before anyone has recieved a response?

Hoping that it will kick in soon....

I took Remicade for close to three years and I am now on Orencia. My Dr.
said that they generally wait about 6 months before they pass judgement
on the med. I know that is probably not want you want to hear. We are
all very impatient and want relief now. Does you dr. have you on
anything else to tide you over until the med kicks in?

I just started Remicade in December. I had an immediate response to it. By the next day I had way less swelling than before the first infusion and I had very little morning stiffness.

There was another lady getting her first Remicade infusion, like me and she asked the nurse how long it would be before it kicked in the nurse replied with "Most patients see improvement after the first infusion." When she said that I was kinda skeptical, but it seems to be true for me.
