Hi!! I Am New Here And I Would Like To Know How Long Does It Really Take To Get Results From Humira. I Have Ra. Was On Methotrexate But Could Not Tolerate It. I Have Just Taken 3 shots. This Ra Is really Taken A Toll On Me.Is There Anyone Here That Does Construction? I Am Having A Hard Time Working

Hi there. welcome to AI. I was on Humira and it took a good 3 monthsfor it to kick in before i felt anyway near normal. I couldnt tolerate MTX either. I am not on Humira now ( changed to enbrel) as i had constant upper respiratory infections while on the Humira. A lot of people on here are taking Humira with great results.

Good luck but give it time

Hey!  Welcome.

I have been on methotrexate for about a year now.  I added Humira seven shots (14 weeks).  I can't give you a specific day I started feeling better, but I do feel better.  I am able to once again work on my favorite hobby--cross stitch! (this has been within the last couple of weeks)

Hang in there.  I hope that it starts working for you soon.  Much good luck and good thoughts are sent your way.

Andrea

I started Humira every other week and it started to work at about 6 weeks.  As I posted on another thread, according to the RD I'm in clinical remission for the first time in 10 years.  Like I said before it's been dozens of medications and a long 10 years.  Am also on MXT, Sulfa. along with Humira.  Hopefully, it will be the med that will work for you, just be patient a little longer.  If nothing else, we learn patience with this disease.  Lindy

Hi...haven't taken Humira but I wanted to wecome you to the board.  Glad you found us, you're sure to find the info you're looking for and a lot more.

Linda

Welcome to the board.

Humira can kick in on the 1st dose and should have helped you some by the 6th dose. The results of any of these drugs is highly individual.

I don't know how anyone could handle a physically active job with RA, but then I've had some form of arthritis all my life and I've never been able to 'keep up' with any physical activity.

You might want to look into a Federal program called Vocational Rehab if construction becomes too difficult physically.

I took Humira for about three months, but did not get much relief at all.  I hope it works differently for you.  Everybody's chemistry is soooo different.

Welcome, and no I do not do contruction, because I am clumsy and I could not handle the manly tasks that it puts you through.  I hope it gets easier for you.
