A quick question - on average how long does it usually take for MTHX to give relief (assuming it's going to work of course) - I know it will vary but just to get a general opinion?? Thanks and thank goodness we have this forum!! I have learnt more about RA from this site than I have from the doctor!! Gill
About 2 months? That's what my RD said anyway...been so long I can't remember anymore.It took 6 weeks for me. Don't get discouraged! It is different for everyone.
I hope that it kicks in quick for you. :) Are you talking about the pill form, IV or Injection? I've been on all three. I had to stop taking the pills for fear of my liver being damaged. I then started on the IV and then the injections but they made me pretty sick. I know everyone is different as I've been reading the threads on Mtx side effects, too. I took Mtx for many, many years. I was off of it for about 7 and now I am back on the pill form to help with my Humira.
