Remicade or other IV’s | Arthritis Information

 Hi!!

Has anyone had this problem?  I've been on Remicade for going on 6 years.  This is the first time this happened.  When they put in the IV and before they put in the Remicade or anything, my wrist --just below the IV--started to itch.  No Remicade going in.  I scrathced once and it turned red.  It stayed red until the nurse came to put the Remicade in.  I showed her.  She said she had never seen anything like it.  She had when the drip was going, but never before the drip was put in.  She started to change the site, but decided to see if it would do.  She put saline in and it worked, so she started the drip.  It did fine and the redness mostly went away in less than 30 minutes. The problem is my wrist is still hurting, not at the site of the redness but in the joint. Could it just be a conincidence that my wrist is still hurting?  Just wondered if anyone had experienced this, or had any ideas?  Teach 2
