How many of you out there have stiffness in the morning and how long does it last if you do?  Any suggestions on how to lessen the stiffness?

Lori

I am not sure I have what's called stiffness.  To me it more or less feels like, for example, my knees feel terrible huge.  Even though they are not they feel like they are going to burst.

Maybe my back is stiff.  But the pain never really "goes" away.

Hi Lori,

I have stiffness in the mornings all the time. It usually lasts fairly bad for a few hours and then I'm sore for the rest - that is when i'm not flaring. I find the worst thing to do though is to stay still with it as it lasts a lot longer if I do. Most of the time I just try to 'live with it'. I hope you find an answer for you though. The above is just what I do.

take care

Hugs,

Pip

Thanks for the replies.

Pip -  you said "was fine"... does that mean that you are in remission with the AP?  If so, how long did it take you?  I am really interested in the AP method, but really have no idea how to start and I know there are no drs. here in South Dakota...

Hey Lori....long time no see

I'm stiff for a short while in the morning and any time that I'm sitting for a while.  Especially if I'm on the floor with my knees bent fully, or resting weight on my wrists.

I am fairly stiff in the mornings.  Sometimes it continues and sometimes it is a couple of hours.  It is not something that I wake up with and then it just goes away.  I have to work a little bit at it, and like I said...some days it doesn't go away.  take your meds about 30 minutes before you get up..take a hot shower and just move as much as possible

Thanks everyone!  I don't have stiffness in the morning yet.  Does everyone have stiffness sooner or later?  I was DX'ed in Oct. '06.  I  just wanted to know what to expect when the time comes.  That part of the disease has been weighing heavy on my mind lately.  I wonder if I will be able to get ready in the mornings and make it to work on time if I have to deal with stiffness too...

Lori
