I'm trying to keep all of you up dated on what's going on. Today, I'm feeling better but have this big dark blue/black bruise on my hip. At first it was small but now it's gotten bigger. My hip feels like I tore something when I took my nosedive to the dining room floor. I'm taking it easy as advised. I'm, also, taking my vicodin 500mgs every 6hrs. The vicodin makes me sleepy so I find myself napping.

Yesterday, I did managed to get into the shower. I took my time and hung on to my grab bars for dear life. As I sat there,on my shower chair, I notice that the tub was a little grungy. So I grabbed my long handled scrub brush and the shower cleaner to clean up the tub. My roomies just don't see the grime. It was easy to do and yes, I made sure that I rinsed the tub before I tried to stand or get out. It felt so good to feel clean as I don't feel that clean when I take a sponge bath. I, also, took down my Christmas night light in the bathroom. Still have my tree up and all of the rest of the decorations. Will try to take down some more.

This morning, I woke up to a throbbling knee/thigh. The pain was shooting down from my hip. Couldn't get my vicodin in me fast enough.  I'm hoping that, on Tuesday, I can get the ball rolling for my total hip replacement. The hip isn't getting any better. Will ask the doc about getting a different kind of walker. I need something that will let me sit down when I feel the leg giving out on me. It's getting to hard to use my quad cane.

If anybody can think of any thing else that I can use, please feel free to comment.

Oh, and thanks for letting me vent/ talk to you.

Marisa

PS: Sometimes, I shut down from the pain or feel as I can't help but I'm trying to be more online.

I am so sorry to hear about your pain.  I hope you get that hip replacement and do not have to wait very long.  I am sure it will help.

Hugs and good thoughts going your way.

Hi Marisa, thanks for the update.  Have been thinking of you and I'm glad to know that you are getting to do some things that are making you feel better.  I am amazed at how on top of things you are with that bad hip. Imagine going through all you've been and still finding a way to be ready EARLY for Christmas.  I am not nearly so organized or together.  Enjoy those decorations while you can.
