Anyone have this symptom? | Arthritis Information

I get this strange feeling that runs down the back of my neck to both sides of my shoulder and sometimes goes down to the back side of my arm.
It feels kind of like a sunburn or that Icy/Hot cream feeling.
When it first started it just came and went but lately it is with me all day and it feels like its slowly spreading further down my body.

Not sure if this is common and if there are any good remedies.

Any info would be appreciated.

I haven't had anything like that. I thought I'd give you a bump though, just in case someone else here knows something.

Could you have pinced a nerve?  Any osteo?

I had the opposite in the beginning - neuropathy started on the middle finger of both hands and spread up to my elbows.  It eventually went away.

Sounds like some swelling around a nerve...if you have a slightly herniated disc in your neck it can push on the nerve and cause swelling too..although I would think that you would only have the sensation on on side vs. bilaterally. Go see an orthopedics or nuero doc, you probably need an MRI of your neck. In the meantime, try putting ice packs on your neck and taking your anti-inflammatory meds when it acts up.

I'm hoping this works this time

I would suggest you go and see your GP just to make sure its all connected.

Hopefully they'll be able to help you with something at the same time.

Yes, I get similar symptoms and some variations as well.  I have three herinated discs in my cervical spine, and every doctor thought that was causing the symptoms until it started moving down my leg and up my face.  Now we know the connective tissue disease is at least partly responsible.  Do you have an RA related health issue?  If not, it could very well be your cervical spine.  But on the other hand, if it's moving lower down your body, that eliminates the cervical spine.  Confusing, yes?  Welcome to our world.  At the very least, see your PCP and he/she may suggest and MRI.  Good luck.

I think I get the same thing is it painful?  Or just a little weird and annoying.  I get it but it not seem to last long kind of like the hick ups its there and you don't remember when it stopped.   I have a lot of neck pain and I have a lot of osteophytes and my Dr said they cause  pressure on the nerve.  Mine got a lot better and happened less often when I stopped lifting heavy things on a regular basis ,like putting my son in the wagon at the store.  Have you had any X-Rays done on your neck if not maybe you should ask the Dr about doing so when I did I learned that I had a slight herniated disc in my neck.  After I did some behavior modification or rather my son did it did get a lot better.  Good luck and take care
