Went to the ortho doc | Arthritis Information

Yesterday, I hobbled in to my ortho doc's office. I didn't use my quad cane as it's becoming hard to balance with it. So here I was sort of rolling in to the office.

As I was leaving my house, I told myself that I could do this. I was very careful going down the two little steps to the sidewalk. I got my excersise as I had to walk the long way to my car but, it was soooo much better than going down the steep steps with my quad cane. The only thing was when I hit myself with the walker as I was putting it into my car. When they were taking the x-rays of my hip and knee, it was very uncomforable lying on that table. Didn't break anything, just pain from the femur grinding against my pelvis!!! So, the doc said that we would do the hip when ever the pain was to much for me. I signed the consent form for surgery and have to wait for the okay from the insurance. The surgery will take 3 hrs as most only take about 2 hrs. The other thing is that they upped my dose of vicodin from 500mgs to 700mgs every six hrs.

Will let all know when the hip day is.

As far as the Christmas decorations go, if I can take them down than I will and if not, will enjoy them until I can.

Marisa, Im so glad you saw your dr and that you didnt break anything.  Will they schedule your surgery once they get word back from the ins company?  Hopefully that doesnt take to long and you can get the surgery and on the road to recovery.

Enjoy your Christmas decorations!!

I'm hoping for surgery like.............next week. LOL Let's get this thing going!!!!!!! *hugs* I'm glad you didn't break anything and I hope your ins. company is nice and speedy.

Christmas should be year round!  All the pretty shiny lights!

Hugs and feel better until the big day!

Hi Marisa, good news, I think.  A new hip will really help you out.  Take care.  LindyMarisa, I hope your surgery is very soon!  I know that you are in agony!  I am so sorry!

Glad to hear nothing is broke.

Hey we put so much effort in putting up decorations and they are so pretty the longer they are up the better.  :)

Another positive step taken toward your recovery.  I'm really glad for you Marisa.

Hugs.

Thanks, everybody. Can't wait for the hip replacement as it will be better for me than what's going on now.

Must tell all that I went out and got myself a new laptop as my desktop was giving me problems.

Take care,

Marisa
