Tips for ER visits | Arthritis Information

I know we all end up in the emergency room every once in a while, and for us RA'ers it can be more often.  I just noticed this article giving five "don'ts" for ER visits:

Most of this is commonsense, but unless my doctor sends me to the ER, I never thought to call them while on my way.

Thanks for the link. I heard about The Beck ordeal. Horrible. That said I guess I have been pretty lucky with regards to ER's

Sheesh...it makes me never EVER want to be in an emergency room.

I have never had a problem w/ an ER except for when I went to the ER last April when an ovarian cyst ruptured.  I was in EXTREME pain and told the triage nurse that it hurt worse then when I gave birth to my daughter.  I was in the room for a good 45 mins before they finally gave me something.  I was crying hysterically it hurt so bad and that rarely happens.  After they realized what was actually wrong they took care of me fine but it took them longer then what it should have for someone to get to me and if it wasnt for the fact that i was in as much pain as i was (drove myself to the ER and got there by the grace of God i think) I woud have walked out and gone somewhere else.
