Hand lesion | Arthritis Information

Hi everyone,

I was cooking this morning and noticed a red lesion on the inside of my hand, right under the pinkie (on the palm side).  It's strange because I have been feeling exceptionally well the last couple of weeks, with no pain or indication of a flare whatsoever.

My RD still isn't 100% certain if I have RA or SLE.  I have a very high ANA titre which is more common in Lupus, but symptom-wise, I seem to be textbook RA.  But he has told me to be on the lookout for lesions or skin rashes because they are symptomatic of SLE.

Does anyone here get lesions with RA?  If not, I probably should call the office and see if it should be looked at.

This is so strange.  I put a band-aide over it because I have a 3 year-old and 1 year-old and just wanted to be safe.  A few minutes ago I checked and it's almost gone, like it's just fading.

Weird!  Alrighty, off to the races.

It could have been anything - a small first-degree burn, a small rash from touching something you don't even remember, a scrape/abrasion that did little more than irritate the tissue. It could be winter itch, mild eczema, an allergic reaction... definitely get it checked out if it persists, but if it disappears, it was probably some minor irritation whose cause you may never know!
