I have had amazing results with Lyrica. I have not read about others being as impressed by this drug as I am. Are you out there? I would appreciate your experiences if you have tried this drug. It is for fibromyalgia but it addressed a lot of my symptoms that I had thought were RA.
I am nervous as I have not found out the cost of it on Medicaid. This will be the first month that I buy my drugs on Medicaid as I do not want to lose my Humira or Lyrica.
I did Lyrica for a nerve problem last year and it worked great for me. I went from not being able to use my foot to using it again. It helped with a damaged nerve in the back of my knee. I have been on Lyrica for years and it has been wonderful in helping with the nerve pain and the fibro. I think a lot of people have difficulty getting through the first few weeks, when many (including myself) have a lot of fatigue, dizziness, and out-of-it feelings. I think it is important to ramp up slowly on the dosage and wait out the initial side effects to see if ultimately it will be a good med for someone. I have increased my dosage quite a bit over time and have been very happy with the results.I've been on Lyrica for about 5 months and it made a dramatic difference in how I feel. I didn't think FM was a real problem for me even though I was diagnosed years ago. Two weeks after starting Lyrica my muscle, some joint, and leg pain slowly started to disappear. It's been a great drug for me. I took Neurontin for years but for some reason it didn't work as well as Lyrica. LindyIt is great to hear others have had good experiences with Lyrica. I went from not being able to walk to walking. I still cannot walk any distance but I am building up my strength. Without Lyrica - I would not have considered working. It does make me dizzy and I have to take them at night. I am also concerned about weight gain as my appetite has increased - like when you up your pred BUT it has made more difference than any other med I have taken - except pred of course.
So I started tutoring. I absolutely love it. I have missed working so so much. I will tell you more when I have more time.
Good wishes for all of you too. My life is looking up - maybe yours can be helped by Lyrica too.
Linn- I didn't think fibro was the problem either but it must have been because what a change.
Liz- Glad it helped you too and good advice Inner on "taking it slow". The side effects are quite noticeable in the beginning. I have been considering Provigal now for the fatigue. What do you think?
