Buckeye -

Is it this one about genes?  Which is what I'm trying to say!

If not, can you go in from outside your account and get the link.  The one you posted wants me to sign up for the Trib but I'm already getting 2 papers and can't right now...I'd be lured by all the info.

Also...can you get the one on the 'cholesterol drug fails to slow buildup.'

Damn, looks like a lot of health news in there!

Pip

try this one...I forgot I was registered on the tribune page

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22771973/

its talking about the long tern effects of severe food poisoning including reactive arthritis

I read that article yesterday. I found it very interesting.

Wow Buckeye -

Thanks for the head's up.

One interesting thing is why do they always say reactive arthritis is usually sexually transmitted?  This is the first time I've seen other things linked to that.

The Trib seems like a good lure...if I get caught up (hey, a girl can dream!) I'm going to get an online subscription.

Hubby's GP (the big D fan, too) is a strong believer in this, and explains it this way - he says a gastro infection like this is like being shot with a bullet that goes through you; the bullet is gone, but the damage remains and has to be healed.

He says that is why they could test and test my daughter, and find nothing.  The bullet is gone.

So, driving the baby to school, I thought about what you said, Suzanne.

Years ago I read this book by Joseph Wambaugh (spelling).  A police prrocedural thing, I think.  One of the characters took a shot to the gut and the author spent a long time talking about his convalescence (spelling).  Anyway, the reason this guy was so bad off as it wasn't a regular bullet, but buckshot.  Apparently that stuff sprays out and they can't get all of it out.  Months later he was back on duty, took another gut hit, and was dead.  Too bad about that character - had a lot of character growth and I liked him at the end.  But that's just rambling.  LOL

We aren't taking bullets - we've got buckshot.
