Does anyone print coupons online for the grocery store?

I want to, but everything I find requires their "downloadable coupon printer" which would be fine, if we had a home printer.

Well, we do, but it's old and out of ink, and the ink costs as much as the damn printer does. STUPID!!

So I wanted to just print them at work. Well I can't d/l the coupon printers here. It just doesn't load or anything. (I'm sure it's somehow blocked. God knows I can sit and d/l a game from msn aussie, but NOOOO NOT COUPONS!!)

If you get coupons elsewhere, where do you find the most savings? Sunday newspaper? I really want to be a coupon clipper....I need to save money. LoL

I signed up for coupons online, downloaded the printer but can only get them to print half the time. For some unknown reason the coupon people think that I am pregnant and keep sending me formula, sample diapers etc!! I also clip from the Sunday paper. I hadn't been using coupons for a long time but was watching a show on TV where a woman saved like 50 bucks when she used her coupons. The only bad thing about coupons is that I tend to buy stuff I wouldn't normally buy just because I have the coupon for it.

yeah, I agree with Wendy. I'm a big fan of store brand stuff and have a lot of other particular things that I never have a coupon for. There are a lot of stores that offer "Double-Coupon" days and if you do use them you could really rack up in those. I rush through the store so fast (I hate grocery shopping) that I don't think I could manage a lot of coupons at once. My husband always pays close attention to the best bargins when he's with me. I'll admit he is a good bargin shopper. I don't have the patience for it.

The only one I do always use is the one for the Hobby Lobby. If you ever shop there look on their website. Most of the time you can get a 40% off one regular price item coupon. Although the majority of the things in there are on sale....my yarn never is; so the coupon works for me!

My experience is if you try and get free coupons on line you end up getting a slew of junk emails

The newspaper coupons seem to want to make you buy 2 of everything to get money off- no savings

Shop Rite has these price plus deals and again forces you to buy like 4 to get the discounted price.

Just can't catch a break these days

Poo Poo.

I buy a lot of store brand suff, but ya know, I'm lookin' for anything right now. I think I'll try a sunday paper and see what comes of it.

One way I save a good bit of money is shopping at the dollar store for things like shampoo, conditioners, hairspray, gel, moose. If you aren't overly picky about your hair products you can save a ton stocking up at the dollar store.

I've always bought like White Rain or Sauve and you can almost always find that there. When they have a type I like I stock up.

Things like that can add alot to your weekly grocery bill.

Katie, Sunday papers does it for us.  We save /10 a week, but we got caught up buying things we really could do without simply because it was a good buy.  The surplus went to our local soup kitchen.  A good lesson learned.

Some stores stopped taking online coupons (maybe just 'free' ones), because of fraud, so when I heard that I decided to save my printer ink.

I used to be the Coupon Queen.  The cashiers would start sweating when they saw me coming.  They always had to use the 'override' key, or call a manager before I was done.

I hated it, really, but dammit, if I'm going to spend all of Sunday morning clipping and sorting, if it says 50 cents off, I want 50 cents off!!!

Best technique - write your list on an envelope, and put your coupons in the envelope.

If you like the store brands, save your coupon shopping for when the brands are on sale.  You need your grocery flyer (Wed. paper here).  Scope that out, then use the coupons from the Sunday paper - usually a lot of stuff on sale has a coupon that week, too.  Those are great deals, especially if your store doubles.

My store TRIPLES occasionally.  Up to 99 cents.  I don't care what it is, if I have a 75 cent coupon for it, it's sold.

I've slowed way down on coupons, though, because it can be time-consuming (expiration dates, etc.).  I used to be a grocery store mystery shopper, too, but gave that up after The Three-Day Turkey Sale Incident of 2005 (store manager delivered flowers and a refund to my house, so I felt I was too 'known' at that point!).  But mystery shopping was a great way to make money doing something I had to do every week, anyway.

You have to track the newspaper adds.  Seriously, who thought they had some sort of rhythm thing?

For example - buy 4 boxes of any General Mills cereal for .  Use your store key card so it's reduced to 4 for .  Another example, Ralphs or Kroger's are the same company.  Then, in the newspaper ads (either Sunday coupons or Wednesday 'food' paper) you find regular coupons.  Buy and 2 GM cereals - get off.  So, use 2 coupons get off.  They double coupon it for a total of .  from is .

Total = for 4 boxes of cereal.  Or 50 cent each.

Pip

omfg that was way too much math for me....... O.o

How 'bout I just keep bouncing from store to store as they have "buy one get one free" cereal sales?

My hubby does grocery price-checking for one of his jobs, and at least in this area, Stop & Shop has the best everyday prices, but ShopRite has the best sales.  Since he goes to all the major chains, he can "cherry pick" the sales and get just a few items at each one, but that would be too expensive (gas!) and time-consuming for most people.

I have heard of a website, can't remember the name right now, where they tell you about the sale cycles at most of the major chains.

As for non-grocery, hubby and I love restaurant.com to buy on-sale certificates to local restaurants, but you have to check the fine print.  We also join the frequent buyer clubs at chain restaurants and check our local coupon magazines (like the Clipper) for any coupons we can use there, from restaurants, to haircuts, or whatever.  And for online shopping, my favorite site is retailmenot.com, where people go to post promo codes.  I can almost always get another 10-25% off whatever I'm buying online that way.

http://www.thesimpledollar.com/2008/01/18/the-one-month-coup on-strategy-a-really-clever-way-to-make-coupons-worthwhile/     The cost-per-page of your home printer can be 25 cents or more, depending on paper, color, and % coverage of the coupon(s) you're printing. Katie, I was curious about the online coupons so I went and searched and
found some but....most of it is stuff I would never use. Lots of coupons for
boxed food. I can make it cheaper and healthier from scratch. I make my
own cleaning products so would not make out very well their either. I'm
going to start couponing and saleing when I can though as money is tighter
at our house too and we are definitely cutting back.

hi, a subject I love!! lol I'm majorly into coupons, I've saved soo much money!! I'm also a major freebie person, I go to the websites and I have enough toothpaste, razors, etc, to last a Year!!  All totally FREE! not to mention lotions, cleansers, etc.

I'm now on a coupontrain and its great!! I get the fri,sat and sun papers, for 5 bucks a month. I ask neighbors for their coupons. Also check the top of the trash bin.

Examples, I spent 180 at Walgreen, 90 was FREE w/ all my coupons, so I only spent 90 bucks. I almost always save at least 1/3 to a half on my groceries.  The big KEY is to STOCK UP when there are deals!!

I go to www.couponmom.com, where its GREAT, they show you a list of stores, and what deals are on each week and what % to save and how to get free things!! Pluse which coupons in which sun paper.

Also www.hotcouponworld.com another good site.

You can save a tremendous amt of money knowing what the regular prices are, a lot of times things "on sale" arent' really on sale. Example: I never buy toilet paper .. dbl, that costs more then 4 bucks.  My fav stores are walmart, best for coupons: CVS, WALGREENS (love love!! you can stock coupons.. use the instore coupons .. PLUS the manufactors coupons!!)  Riteaid another fav.

I'm thinking of starting a post on FREEBIES....how to do it.. my mailman knows me soo well, that my mom sent me a pkg just to my name and city, and the mailman knew who I was!!! LOL

It does take some time to do the coupons and find out the best deals, but man its sooo worth it!!!

ps: I never buy coupons!!

I use them occasionally mostly for something I already have on my list. When the kids were little I used a lot of coupons.

Now our grocery chain has a  shoppers card and when you use that you can really save.. last big grocery day I saved 35 $ on a 0 order. They wont accept online home printed coupons of any kind.

I dont do a lot of shopping in  different places. we have 2 stores in town and I refuse to shop at one of them except for an occasional special or our favorite hot dogs. The store I really like is 25 miles away so I try to time shopping for when I'll be there anyway.

Yayyy Wegmans!! Best grocery chain in  the East.

Whispered, you reminded me that Walgreens has a monthly rebate book with deals on top of the regular weekly sales and coupons.  There's something like 60-70 deals in there and at the end of the month you send it all in together (only one stamp instead of a lot of different envelopes) and if you choose to get your rebate in the form of a Walgreens gift card, you get something like a 10% bonus on top of your rebate amount.[QUOTE=Suzanne]
