I just am having a hard time today. I don't have my appt with Rheumotologist till February 6th.

Got results back from ct scan.

Nodule in left lobe grew and now one in right lobe. More scar tissue/fibrosis too.

I stopped smoking in August.

I am sick of tramadol as it doesn't feel like it is working anymore and it seems to be ripping my stomach out wen I take it longterm.

Anyway I just need to vent. You all have been so helpful. I suppose this is common till I see a Dr. and get answers.

I read lung cancer is more common in RA patients today and it sent me over the edge.

One day at a time..I know......

Oh my gosh, of course you're worried, anyone would be.  You should call the RD's office immediately.  They may be able to ease your mind until your next appointment.  It may not be as scary as it seems on the surface.  Don't wait, call and get some answers.  And please let us know how you're doing.

Yay for quitting smoking!!!

Take a deep breath, and step back from the litterature for a bit.

*hugs*

Hi, a physician must have given you the results of the CT - right?  Xray depts. don't give the results to the patient but to the attending doctor.  If you got the results from your primary care phsycian I'd call and talk with them.  You need to ask questions and deserve answers from the doctor.  I'd also call the RD's office and try and get the appt. sooner or talk with them by phone.  Have you seen the
RD before?  LindyI haven't been to a rheumy but I get to see one next week. I have had melanoma and I've had to have a nodule on my lung scanned about 5 times, it's maybe grown a little or none at all. I read on the homepage here that nodules can grow on the lung from RA? Thomas39471.7009722222

Yay on the stop smoking.

And hugs and good thoughts going out to you.

Hang in there.

I recently read that the Lung cancer/RA connection was determined to not be fact...I will try to find where I saw it and post  it.

Lung Cancer Risk With Rheumatoid Arthritis

Rheumatoid arthritis does not increase the risk of lung cancer, according to new research by the National Databank for Rheumatic Diseases (NDB).

Hi TS, Of course your concerned! I agree with everyone else. You absolutely need to call your doctor (whoever gave you the results) and have them explain it to you. I also agree that you need to talk to the RD and tell him/her of your concern.

About six months ago I had a lot of tests, including a biopsy of lymph nodes near my pancreas, checking for lymphoma. They also did CT scan of chest, abdomen and pelvis. I had some nodules on adrenal glands and some very small ones (2) in one lung. I asked my Rheummy about them and the lung nodules are so tiny that she said they were not a problem. And the adrenal, were adenomas, which I was told, are seldom serious. I told you this so that you know you are not alone. By the way, I don't have lymphoma, but I was sure scared for a while! My hemotologist was certain I had lymphoma, too!

Congratulations on quitting smoking!! You deserve to be very proud of yourself!  My husband and I both quit smoking 5 years ago last August, after being smokers for 35 years. I haven't even had a cold since I quit.

Please let us know when you talk to your doc. Feel free to vent any time you want to. We are here for you.

Gentle hugs, Nini

Appreciate all your replies.

I will call the Dr. again.

I know the nodules are common.  I just want to feel better. Glad my appt in on Feb 6th. Thought I would have had to wait longer.
