Enbrel & Too many Immuno-suppressants? | Arthritis Information

I've been taking Enbrel for 6 weeks now, alongside Cyclosporin and Prednisone.  After the first few weeks I felt fantastic - my joints had much more movement and less swelling although still some pain.  Recently I have been feeling dreadful though - Weak, tired, sleepy, edgy, heart racing, nosebleeds, looking pale/grey.  I read Geoff's post here on fatigue and our symptoms seem pretty similar.  My family and I are worried I am having a bad reaction to the Enbrel but it has also been suggested that my body is being overwhelmed by too many Immune Suppressant drugs, has anybody heard or read if this is possible?

I've been advised to halve my Cyclosporin and continue with the Enbrel, although I'm not feeling great about reducing my meds when I feel so awful.  I am seeing my GP on Thursday and hopefully can persuade her to take bloodwork which would show up any serious problems right?  I know I need to speak to my RD, I'm going to call him today or tomorrow but was just wondering if anyone here had had similar experiences?

Thanks for reading,

Take care

Moonie

I've never even heard of Cycosporin Moonie...but that means nothing, I suppose your theory is absolutely possible.

I hope you 're feeling better soon. After 6 weeks on the treatment I would certainly think you would be beginning to feel better, not worse.

Best wishes,

Lovie

I felt better after 6 weeks of enbrel, but have never taken it with the drug you mentioned (See my sig.)  I hope the rheumy can figure out what is going on with you.  I am so sorry!  keep your chin up, we care about you!  HUGS!
