I forgot to take my methotrexate last night.  Would it be okay to take it ater lunch today?  Then will I be able to go back to my regular Friday schedule?

You've all had a lot more experience with this than I have so I would appreciate your replies.

sure

take it now. dont worry about it

take ityup. MTX is very "forgiving" about being taken at a different time or day than your schedule.

I am certain that I am not the only one who has taken a dose a couple of days early or late to accommodate a special occasion

Forgetting is just a part of my life, so taking it a day or three late is common.

I echo the take it.
I agree with others take it today Dotty it will be fine, you can even take it at the time you usually take it on Friday, before bed whatever.  meme

Again, thanks.

I think if you forget for several days or maybe the night before your next scheduled dose, you realized you forgot, then you DONT take it, and wait for your next scheduled dose day.  But 24-48 hours late, I believe is fine.  justsaynoemore39473.4332523148

My doc said to try to keep to the same schedule, but if I occasionaly need to change the day, i.e., going from a Thursday night to a Friday night that's okay. He said do not bounce around, find what works and stick with it.  His rule of thumb was 24 hours it could be changed without a problem, beyond that he said not to.

All doctors are different....but I go along with the "take it".

Becky took her first dose of MTX last night and her rheumy said if we forget it/have a special occasion and reason to miss it etc, to take it at the next available opportunity, then work backwards to the original day of taking it over the next few weeks, one day at a time ie no LESS than 6 days in between. So if she normally takes it on a Friday, has a hectic weekend and takes it instead on the Monday, the next week should be the Sunday, the following week the Sat, then back to Fri by the following week. He also said missing a whole week on occasion would be OK, eg holidays etc - did I really want to go through the hassle of getting syringes and drugs through the airports...Seems to be a forgiving drug in this way then, fitting in with our lifestyles?

Missing 1-2 days is no biggie.  I have never heard of a doc saying that a week is ok tho.  Amazing how all of our docs do things so differently.

Mtx really does fit in with a busy lifestyle because you can play with the day of your shot or taking the pills.

Call ahead to your airlines if you travel to find out how you transport the syringes etc. when you fly.  I would just be afraid that missing a week would throw your daughter into a nasty flare during holiday and that would really bite for her and the rest of the family since no one wants to see their loved one not have a good time on holiday.  I know for me (I can only speak for me since RA is so different for all of us) that if I would miss a week I would be in misery and possibly hospitalized because the flare would be so out of control I would need IV steroids and IV pain meds to calm it.
