Traveling with Enbrel | Arthritis Information

Haven't taken Enbrel on plane for a few years....usually travel in RV.  The last time we flew, there was no problem and packed Enbrel in carry-on luggage.  Has anyone had a problem getting through airport security lately?  I know security is getting tougher all the time.  I will probably end up calling airlines, but your real life experiences are so much more dependable.  THANKS!

All medications are exempt form the "no liquids" rule. However, when you pass through security, your best bet is to declare your meds. They'll typically ask you "do you have any liquids, fluids, etc?" Go ahead and say "just my medications" Chances are they'll nod and walk you though no problem. It just saves them from seeing on the x-ray screen, and possibly not being able to identify it on the monitor.

I have just booked my tickets to fly to Paris. To fly from Adelaide to melbourne which only takes an hour and half I can just use the ice packs and carry the enbrel with me. The airline company needed a letter faxed through to them at the time of booking. The flights to singapore, then dubai, and to paris the airline will store it in their fridge. They also needed the letter from the doctor. Plus I am to carry the letter with me and the tickets. You should have no problem at all. (At least in the USA) I just traveled from Ohare airport to Fort Meyers in November and there were no questions asked. I put my shots in my carry on luggage. I used the travel pack kit that enbrel sent me.
Have a nice trip!
Thank you for your responses -- it's so reassuring to hear from you all.  Have a good weekend!
