Hubby phoned the rheumy and told him my anti ccp test had came back weak positive.  He said he was surprised that I'd got that test done and that he doesn't use it because it's very controversial and that he wouldn't put much weight on it at all and that my RF test came back negative - it didn't the doc said it was 8 - a weak positive. The Rheumy still doesn't believe I have rheumatoid arthritis and said hed get my doc to give me some hydrocholoro- something - guys please get back to me coz i'm going out of my mind here.
I think the drug he is going to give you is vicoden.  That is a good thing because it will relieve the pain.  Then you can think more clearly how to deal with this and GET A NEW RHEUMY!!!!!  I am so sorry Julie.  Get a new Dr. NOW. Don't even think about it, do it. This is totally unacceptable. It's not fair to be treated this way, I'm so sorry Julie.    Jeeeze, I don't know what to say.  You must be going out of your mind... almost want to throw your hands up and say...OK....I DON'T HAVE RA.......SO GO AWAY!! and poof.....it will be gone! Jackie. Why is he saying this - surley a positive anti ccp test proves it does it not?

hmmmm,

Just thinking....hydrochlori....something... I think that's plaquenil.  It's what they wanted to put me on in the beginning with Palindromic Rh. I wish I had of taken it then, wouldn't have the problems that I do today probably.

1. Take whatever meds they give you.

2. Get copies of your medical reports/file.

3. Search for new Rheumy right away.

Keep doing it until you find one you can trust.  Do not give up.

Julie...I'm not sure of the health care system in the UK. I'm not sure it's as easy for you to just get a second opinion as it is for us here in the US. (You guys remember all the trouble Tori has had there)

The first thing I'd like to point out to you...and that stupid doctor is that blood work is only ONE of the criteria for diagnosising RA.

I'm what they call seronegative...but I was dxed with RA the very first visit to the rd. I have been treated fairly aggresively for more than 11 years now.

For your sake Sweetie, I hope it's not RA. Keep your fingers crossed...maybe it's something else and they can prescribe you something that will make it all go away.

But don't just let them blow you off. I'd print off the list of criteria for dx-ing RA. Ask your doctor to explain to you why he thinks you don't have it. Ask him to explain the other symptoms you have.

Also; you might want to ask him to prescribe predisone. I've heard doctors say that if you respond well to predisone it's very, very likely you have some type of inflamatory arthritis. Ask him to try this and see what happends.

Whatever you do...don't go in there in some sort of panic...and hesterical. They'll give you some pain pills and send you on your way. More than likely you'll leave with antideprassants too. Go in there with your research. Show him that you aren't some stupid woman who's post pardom and over whelmed with being a new mother. Go in there and make him/them see that you are a smart, well imformed, well researched young lady who knows her own body....and will not be dismissed with a bottle of pills.

Good Luck Julie. We're with you 100%

Lovie
