I was brushing my teeth this morning and there was lots of blood. I have one of those great big sores on the roof of my mouth from the mtx. Does that mean they won't start me on a biologic today
But if you get approved for Enbrel they have to teach you how to administer the shots to yourself - so they may have you come back later this week after you go to the pharmacy and pick it up. You have to bring it in to the doctors office in a little Enbrel Cooler. Then they show you how to give yourself a shot.
With the Remicade they have to set things up for the treatment- I think it takes a couple of hours to administer the Remicade. So they usually make a different appointment.
In any event I am sure that you will get the appointments and the ball rolling today.......I think it is very exciting- even if you have a little mouth problem- at least the hard part will be accomplished today- the actual setting up of the biologics.

Are you taking lots of folic acid with the MTX? That'll help a lot with the mouth sores. Worked for me, almost immediately.
