Handicapped Hangtag--a blessing | Arthritis Information

I finally asked my rheumatologist if he would sign the form for me to get the handicapped hang-tag for my car.  He agreed immediately.  When I am able to walk easily and without pain, I don't use the space but do park farther away.  However, sometimes I have found it to be a Godsend that I can park closer.  My right ankle has always been my most annoying joint.  Sometimes I am walking and that ankle doesn't flex so I nearly fall over.  I waited years before getting the tag.  It is hard to accept the reality of a chronic condition, but with acceptance comes adaptation to what life brings.  hi, Yay, i'm really happy for you, they do make a huge difference!!!

Most of my providers have one and i have a temp one..(when i get to rent a car or visit a friend).. they are a lifesaver... people don't realize, the small difference it can make in how many steps you walk! :)
I agree totally Molly, I am glad you have got one, I use mine like you, I feel blessed when I don't need it, but even more blessed when I do.  They are a Godsend, hugs Janie.
