Probably asked before, but about MTX... | Arthritis Information

 

Does anyone taking a higher dose of MTX (I take 25 mg) experience a loss of appetite?  If yes, have you tried leucovorin and has that helped?  If not, did you go back to normal after a while and if so, how long?I  take 25mgs...but  haven't had  any decrease in my appetite.  Does  the decrease  in appetite happen just the day of mtx or all the time?Lin, How long have you been on MTX?  I take a smaller amount and good God it hasn't stopped my eating. If i don't do something before long my endo.Dr. is going to send me to Jenny Craig.

I've been taking the higher dose for a couple months now.  I just hardly ever feel hungry anymore.  Maybe it isn't even the MTX, but that's the only different thing.  I've been taking the leucovorin for just about two weeks.  The doc prescribed that becaust the MTX had also been making me very tired.

Linn, I gained weight on 6 tabs a week for 18 months.  Oink Oink Oink
