This is how my rd appointment went. It was good. He pointed out to me that I have improved over the last three months. He said I could barely walk when I came into his office, had not had a good night sleep for weeks, so much pain. You forget these things. Anyway, he said he agrees, I need the biologics. He wants to keep me on 5 mg. mtx because he thinks that is why I am better. Although, I am also taking relafin and placquenil and prednisone. He extended my disability. I actually said I AM NOT GOING BACK TO WORK YET
So tomorrow is another day. My rd wants me to start weight training. I am going to ask him to refer me to pt so it does not cost me money to have a trainer. Weight training should be fun.
So that is the story. I know Lovie, PATIENCE. It is sure hard though. My head hurts from the emotional roller coaster ride today and my rd said I can't take aspirin. Thanks for letting me moan and groan. I am sure tomorrow I will get more answers. I just cannot wait to start biologic. I am so concerned about my hips. I know they are inflamed ALL THE TIME. By the way, my numbers were all normal so don't let those blood tests upset you. I definitely have inflammation and pain and my rd agrees even though the "numbers" don't show it.

Insurance companies are nothing but an all for profit bunch of buttheads!
Sheila Roxy, check with the company that makes enbrel. a lot of the drug companies will now give the drugs to you at a reduced cost or free if your insurance company won't pay for it. It's worth a try anyway. good luck! Linda yep, time to go in fighting and don't give in. I can't imagine you can't have the med you need. If your veins are a problem then your Dr should be able to help with them aprroving it. If they don't I would check into some legal advice. There is not much I hate more that poor Med ins. My cousing is dead because of it and nothing makes me angrier faster. GO GET EM, ROX!!
