Toss and turn, toss and turn. Wake up every 40 minutes. UGH.

I don't even know what I'm doing sitting here. Trying to get sleepy??? Bleh!
It didn't really do much of anything up here til abut 4am.  As I look outside now it is snowing and the wind is blowing.  We wil get a slight break in the storm between 5-6am but it is going to pick up in time for rush hour.  Rush hour is supposed to be a disaster.  They are saying if you don't have to go to work....don't.  They extended the winter storm warning til 6pm tonight.  It is expected for the snow to be heavy at times to light at times with the wind constant tho gusting up to 40 mph creating blizzard conditions.  I could not see the houses across the street at 4am it was blowing the snow around so much.  I guess from what I could gather from my different news websites it just took a bit longer for this storm to organize itself than expected.  We are gonna get hit...just not as soon as they thought.  It has started tho!!  The girls will probably not have school.  And if our district remains open I will probably not send them.  Well only Danielle since Arielle is out with a probable ear infection and possible strep.  She is headed to the doc tomorrow.

5 of my most precious things are...my family...my friends...my doggie....the awesome doctors we have that take care of me and the girls....and last but not least....my mickey mouse collection of dolls and little mickey knick knacks.
oh I forgot the 5 things list...hahaha...

Um....I'll do two, the first one is cheesy-
1. Mom
2. Dad
3. Justin
4. Domino (kitty!)
5. Samus (kitty!)

and now the silly one:

1. Cheeto's
2. Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
3. Alice in Wonderland
4. Lactose Free Milk
5. Cherry Coke

Wow........fatty at heart? Oh yeah! oh GOODIE! We're under a tornado watch, it'll be a warning soon. This crap looks NASTY. Its the sh*t that killed 27 people in the south so far.

Joy?

Well, I found out yesterday that my 11 year old son has a "wayward" tooth in the roof of his mouth that is impacted and needs to be sedated to have it removed. This poor kid had two teeth pulled last week (he was a trooper) and had his braces put on this past Monday (again - not a tear shed). He's in so much pain right now from the braces, he won't eat. I bought him oatmeal (nope), made mashed taters (nope), and got him Carnation Instant Breakfast drinks (did the trick). Today I will bring him a thermos of soup to school for lunch. I'm so stressed. Oral surgeon and Orthodontist said the "wayward tooth) does'nt have to come out for a couple months - not an emergency - but it DOES have to come out. It's a pretty involved surgery. By involved, she said she thinks it'd take about 10 min to get him sedated and numb and 20 min. actively cutting and pulling and sewing him up. I'm soooo upset and stresed but I'm trying not to let him see. I hate when my kids are hurt or upset. makes me sick to my stomach.Oy vey Honey!!! Your poor son!!  Poor you!!!!  i wish you guys the best of luck with this oral surgery.  Lemme tell ya...he is a stronger person than I am.  I would have to be knocked out all the way to do the oral surgery he has to go thru.   Poor kid Honey.  Kids and teeth can be a bad combination.  He'll be OK.  You as mom though well....its harder on you.    I'm with Liz   I'd have to be knocked out cold too.

Things I'm grateful for

1.  my family
2.  my church
3.   my kitties  Guinvever and Yoda
4.  Snowless winters here in Australia
5.  maple syrup
No, sleep for me. Severe weather is still around and I cannot sleep when I know there are tornados floating about or coming our way.

Daughter will be happy when she wakes up, because school got cancelled today for them. BUT the next door neighbors their school is going to be delayed an hour. HAHAHAHA!!!

Daughters was cancelled because the possible tornado was headed right where the school was and where most of the people who attend daughter's school lives. So... no school.

I will be up until the rest of this storm passes thru then I am going to sleep FINALLY!

I have been up all night. But did occupie myself by watching Turner & Hooch. I just LOVE Tom Hanks some thing about him that just makes him seem like a great guy.

Oh and it is hard to tell the difference between a train coming thru, we live like less than 200ft from an active track or if it really is a tornado. So... I stay awake to be able to tell the difference.

I hate it when I fall asleep when there are T-Storms and then to be woke up with my heart in my throat because I missed the whistle of the train going by and only caught the passing of it; which I have been told a tornado sounds much like a train. Yeah... many of times woke up thinking I was about to be ripped outta my bed by a tornado. Not fun... not fun at all!
I don't think trains would be running today Jooine, don'tcha think??? I dunno, I've never lived by trains.

We're just starting to get that crap here. When did it start for you? The storm is slanted to the NE, like it always is. We've got a severe thunderstorm warning and a tornado watch. And I get to go to work today! GOODIE! LOL
I'm up, I'm up...she pulls covers over her head and cries.  Well, I thought I was going experience less pain today....um NO!

I have a massage and then water exercise...I am not sure about the exercise with the tendons and all being very swollen, and my body just hurting like no other!

Honey, I am so sorry about your son.  I am the same way...I do much better when the pain is in my body.  You are doing well...finding things that would work for him to eat.

Well, if I did not have to take the kids in I think I would go back to bed.
Welp, storms have passed.... so I am off to bed.

Daughter woke up like 30 mins ago and was freaking out because she thought I let her miss the bus LMAO! I told her they cancelled school because a supposed tornado was heading towards the area of her school and she just said "YES!" Then I told her about the neighbors still having to go to school today and she was starting laughing and said I do not have to go to school today! Then back to bed she went. Which is where I am headed to now!

TTYL!!

Yep, as a matter of fact a train went by close to 5am and we were getting the heavy winds and some hard rain around 4:45am. So... yes... the trains still run when there is bad weather.

Oh we did not get Tornado Watch until 5:30am and they turned to Tornado Warning around 5:45am until 6:30am, but actually stayed in warning until 6:45am. The storm had slowed down and was moving slower so they adjusted the time for it. Well I'm not even going to mention the measly little storm we're supposed to get.  It'd be like whinning about a hangnail to a guy who's missing his finger.

Shelly~ I was hoping you'd be feeling better today too.  Poor thing.
Liz~ I hope you can narrow down the offending ingredient so you don't accidently use it again.
Honey~How old is your son?  I'm guessing around 11 if he just got braces.

My mom is coming over today with lunch.  She wants to see my son before he leaves on Friday morning.  She must really want to see him cuz she usually won't leave her house if weather is an issue.  When I heard the news this morning I called her to let her off the hook and tell her we'd understand if she didn't want to drive over, but she's still coming.  I'm glad, I've been looking forward to it.  The bad weather isn't supposed to hit till later, so I'm sure she'll be ok.  Still, I hate to think of her worrying about it.
Linncn2008-02-06 08:39:25Katie, is Alice in Wonderland some kind of food, since everything else was, lol..

I'm w/ you on your list.. except plain regular NON diet Coke a cola... Yum~

How  long have you had your one touch can opener?  I can't find an electic can opener woth a dime. I just can't open cans anymore and it's not me it's the whole family. Enranged I threw an almost new Proctor Silex in the garbage last week, bought a cheap Magic Chef to replace it- it doesn't work either! it just won't catch the can properly. Is it the friggin cans?

When I saw you mention this can opener once before I typed it into the internet but it looks like people either absolutely hate them or love them.....
That is Liz that has the one touch can opener.

But I have had my can opener aka hubby for a little over 9 years now.
Won't be doing much today but watching my DVR's of House.
1. My Family
2. Body pillow
3. Biofreeze
4. My Dogs
5. Roof over my head
I like my Coffee & Tea
Cherry Dr. Pepper
Popcorn
All sweets!
Oh Ya and my Crocs!! The have the one's with sheepswool inside now!
Pure heaven!I am trying to decide if I want to make myself hurt more or to stay where I am at in the pain department. Meaning I was thinking of cleaning house, but ... this weather is screwing with me again. Making the fibro act up, my neck/shoulders/back area is stiff and feels really tight.

And I have only had 3 hours of sleep. BOOOOO!!

How is a person suppose to function off of 3 hours of sleep. It was probably less than 3 hours of sleep, because I remember looking at the clock and it saying 8:27am and then hubby came home around 11:05am to get something he forgot. Then tried to go back to sleep then in-laws dropped by to make sure I knew we were having bad weather. Then daughter decided she wanted lunch... so I got up and made mac & cheese.

Now, I am sitting here trying to decide what to do. I just want to go back to my bed. Nice, warm, soft, sweet, comfy bed. Oh and my slobbered on pillow.
Ok, so I am a nerd...I forgot the five things that I am thankful for.

1. four hours sleep all in a row!
2. my kiddos
3. Hubby (most of the time...minus the man cold!)
4. my puppies...even the new baby...she is a character!
5. The warmth of summer...yes we are still below zero...I would trade for snow!

That is all I can think of today!
Oops!!  You're right.  My fifth thing is:

the meds we have now that allow me to continue to walk.  A year ago I couldn't.

My son was saying that down in VA where he's been stationed, they never heard of patzkes (pronounced "punchkies") or Fat Tuesday.  Is that just a Michigan thing?

I think it's a Catholic thing... Fat Tuesday ("Mardi Gras") is the last big hurrah before Ash Wednesday and the season of Lent.

I'm learning all this in RCIA (Catholic boot camp). Yeah, Jas it is.  I think Polish Catholic.  Around here though patzkes are HUGE.  Actually they always make it seem to be on the news, but I don't know anyone personally that's all that crazy for them.  I had one once and it was just like any jelly donut.  But only like, 3 times the fat and cals.  I have a co-worker who emigrated from Poland.  He brings those to the office every Mardi Gras.  That, and someone always brings a cake with a baby in it. Oh yeah, cake with a baby.  I make that whenever their's an extra baby lying around. Here I found something about it.  It's called "King's Cake"

Interesting.  That's something I never heard of before now.  I wonder what the various duties and privleges are.
1.  Three sensitive, loving children who care about people and the world.
2.  A husband who works so very hard to provide for this family and never, ever complains.
3.  A home that we love in a community filled with wonderful friends and neighbors.
4.  A life that has been filled with laughter and learning, and the chance to grow in spirit.
5.  The ability to know and feel the power of love.
Did you ever get the baby Jas?
Did you ever get the baby Jas?
Nope.  I usually pass on office sweets.  It seems that every day someone has a cake or pie to celebrate something in the office.  I'm trying to make sure my behind doesn't outgrow my office chair.Oh LAWDY! Y'all need ta git down ta good ol' naw lins! That's some REAL mardi gras right there!!

LMAO
five things I am grateful for:
1. My super comfy warm bed
2. my boys and their wonderful girlfriends
3. hubby, I guess. lol
4. my 3 misfit doggies and kitten adopted from the animal shelter
5. my doctors who are doing their best to help me.

of course the order changes based on everyone's behavior and my pain level. If left alone with too many King Cakes, Katie WOULD somehow die of an overdose.

Don't ask. It is what it is.
Hilarious!!  I'm going to have to give that a try next time we have people over!!You know about King cakes too Katie??  Did you know about patzkes? No, never heard of patzakes....

Hello, I'm like 5 hours from Naw Lins. We get all kinda maddness here. We're almost sold out tonight. IN FEB!!! Cause people are on vacation. It's the weirdest thing. Oh and, in order to get from my town (where I live) to Destin (the town I work in) you have two choices - hwy 98 across the island FREE TO TRAVEL, or the bridge which is .50 a car.

They FRICKING CLOSE THE ISLAND TO HAVE A DAMN PARADE. >.< I'm so glad I never work when they have it! I can't imagine!!!!!!
LOL Yes, yes it is. Such a mess of bad, of COURSE it tastes good! LOL

Which reminds me...I shall pick up a walmart king cake tonight. CLEARANCE! WOOT! Hahaha
I have three chocolate patzkes in my fridge right now.  Chocolate with cusstard.  My mom brought them today.  If I eat one that's 700 calories and a day"s worth of fat.  So I'm going to pass. Probably.cuss-tard.

omg Link, that's better than goatish..... I'm not sure what it means yet, but I'll make something up!!!!

It doessn't mean anything Katie. It's jusst that I jusst now remembered that today iss add an extra ss day.  Don't they do that by you?

No! Man we don't do anything cool here!

*pouts*

I mean, "poutss"
