OT - shopping | Arthritis Information

I'll start by saying "I hate shopping".  Always have.  Anyway, my assistant had a call from her buddy that she bought a winter coat on sale at JCPenneys for .97.  My assistant was dying to go, so I told her that we'd go together during our lunch time to find out if that was a mistake.  Well....it was not.  I bought  13 coats!!!  All of these for about 0 !!!!!  I saved over ,000.00  Yup, that's right....each coat was priced between 0 or 0 each.

Okay, so they are all not for me.  I thought of my buddies and bought for them too.  If they don't fit, I'll donate them to the women's shelter in town.

It was a great day.  Oh, and I did tell you I hate shopping, I was in and out of the store in 15 min.
I like to browse stores. I most of the time will not buy anything unless I get in one of my gotta have moods, and only if that mood lasts before checking out. I have went to a store with sole intentions to buy something, and then put in the buggy and just before checking out I put it back. Because most times by the time I hit check-out I have decided I did not want to waste that much money on something I REALLY wanted.

Yes, people you can analyz that all you want and it just boils down to... I do not think of myself deserving of wasting hubby's hard earned money on me, as I do not do much of anything to deserve it.
You have an assistant?  I want one of those! I also hate shopping. Christmas (not this past, the one before) I was recovering from knee surgery and I did all of my shopping online. It was awesome. I spent more money but it was worth it.
You did get some great deals there. What a nice idea to donate them. [/QUOTE]

Hey does having a 3 year old count as having an assistant? I mean... he kinda listens to me and does what I tell him, and I pay him in waffles, cookies, granola bars, and mac & cheese! I have an assistant for shopping, its called my alter ego............its says buy this, buy that.........even when I dont need things.  When we were in New York, It kept making me buy cheesecake.....
The coats sound great. I havent been sale shopping in ages. I bought tons of stuff last year that I havent worn as I put on weight but the diet is working so hopefully I will get into them soon. I lost a whole stone in weight..yay!!
Debra, I Have to go post that deal on my freebie boards... what state/city or just
state are you in... feel free to mail me one!! LOL

you guys hate shopping???!!!!! GASP... FAINT... I LOVE to shop.
Plus since I'm a couponer and look for major deals, and only get out when my
helper comes over... I spend about 5 hrs, the first of the month, just getting my deals.
shopping, shopping, shopping, tons of stores!!!

LOVE SHOPPING~!!!!!!!! LOL

esp when i save a lot of money... thats a fantastic deal.. good for you

15 mins, omg, i'd still be at the front of the store, or first aisle, lol
Especially if I could get a good deal!
I'm in NH - but I'd call my local JCPenney!!  lol about the assistant, she's awesome!!Wow what an awesome deal! Did they have other things on sale as well? We had to move older son's gf in with us - long story, but she was being majorly abused and had to get her out of that enviroment. Sadly her mom gave all her belongings to her sisters, even the antique bedroom furniture she bought herself. We have been slowly buying her winter clothes, as I find sales (another reason for me working). She's putting herself through college and is in her 3rd year. Now she is needing dressier things for interviews and her student teaching her last year of college. Thank goodness she was smart and got scholarships, because there's no way we could help her with that. She has an uncle who sends her a check for 0 every month for spending money and her mom cashes it and keeps it. It's all so sad, but thanks for the heads up, I will take her there later and see what we can find! Has anyone metioned to the Uncle that the mom is stealing the daughter's money?  Seems like he would want to know, maybe start sending the check toyour house. That's so sad Deb :(  What size is she? I have a bunch of extra clothes laying around the house, shoes too. Let me know. The uncle lives in another country doing christian charity work. She thinks he may be in Puerto Rico now, but she isn't sure and doesn't have an address or phone # for him.

Katie that's an awfully nice gesture, if you have things that might fit her, I will reimburse you for shipping. She is 6ft tall, wears a medium top (it has to be long enough to cover her tummy cuz she's so tall) she wears a size 9 shoe, and I'm not sure her pant size, I think it's a jr. size 11/12, but they have to be long as well. Her mother changed the locks on her house so she can't go there when mom is at work. We went to see her grandma when she was in the hospital and her mom gave her 3 boxes of "her" stuff. It turned  out to be one  box of empty cds, one box of toy purses of her little sisters, and one box of junk from 6th grade. Big jerk!
JCP is a national chain, so it is safe to assume they are all having similar sales.  But this is clearance, so the selection will vary by door.  If you live somewhere that had a mild winter and they were stocked for cold weather, you have a better chance of finding more coats!

Did you know some chains pay big bucks for long range weather forecasts?  They try to predict the winters, to know what to buy.  I was told one chain goes out five years.  (I can't decide if that is really money well spent or not....)
Well I can try for the pants at least...SHEESH none of my tops would fit her! They're from my "tiny" days, and they're all smalls. Really....really...smalls...LOL And I wear a size 8 shoe :(

But I've worn 11/12 LONGS for a while now!! I got some of them!! I'll have to see what shape they're in, I'm afraid that some of them are really torn up. I'll try to remember to look tonight when I get off work, and I'll PM you. :)
Thanks sweetie! she has jeans, she needs anything other than those...

you're an angel.
Well poop. Do you not want me to send her anything? LOL

OH I HAVE A CUTE CUTE SUMMER DRESS! I know it's early, but if she might need anything like that later? It's a pretty sea green with pink cherry blossoms on it. I really can't remember what else is in that other closet. Hm. I'll look anyway!
