What Is The Prickly Needle Feeling In Knees? | Arthritis Information

Share

I have this feeling in my knees and feet.

It feels like a hundred of needles pricking me at once.
It was real bad last night my left knee almost gave out on me.
Any input would be great.
Is there numbness too, or just the prickly feeling?  It sounds like nerve pain to me.I have some nerve pain that's simular to that.

It was also discovered that I have a B12 deficincy that causes simular problems. That's not as painful as it is "bothersome". I have a form of neruopathy that is painful though. Definately point it out to your doctor. Some medications can cause it too.
Restless Leg Syndrome?

I know my legs jerk or twitch alot when I have a lot of inflammation going on.

Hope you can find out what it is causing it. Please keep us posted. Do you live with any little trolls or other mininscule people? I'm just wondering if they're sticking a bunch of pins in your knees while you're sleeping?

JK, of course. I'm not trying to trivialise your problem, I'm just feeling prickly.
InnerGlow....There is no numbness, but there is pain.
Gimpy-a-Goo....HA HA I was trying to be serious."gimpy-a-goo"? I like that! I feel a name change comin' up! Masonsnana, I had the same thing with weakness to the point that I needed help getting out of a chair, so my doc sent me to PT and it has helped so much.  At this point, I am going twice a week.   Are your knees swollen? The swelling could be pinching a nerve. And then, when you're in bed at night, you've relieved the pressure so it all stops.

See if you can make it go away by elevating your legs for a while. It'd be a start, and would help your doc figure out what it really is.

GG..I do have weakness also. Getting up is hard but not to the point of needing help.

arriscolwell....My knees are swollen and I do elevate them and it helps.

Thanks for the input.....I am still new at all of this and any help is much apppreciated!
Hi! I definitely agree with Katie about the swelling possibly pinching a nerve. I hope the doc is able to fix whatever the issue is and you get some quick and lasting relief.

The only thing I've got that's even close is that here lately it feels like my legs are just gonna give out on me. I have to sit immediately. It's the strangest sensation.
