Worse if have infection? | Arthritis Information

I was just wondering if anyone gets worse when they have any sort of infection in their body. Can be strep throat, Bacterial Vaginosis, Kidney Infection etc.

I notice that when my BV flairs up again that the rest of my body does too.

You know bubba, I don't know what it is with me ,but my body seem's to hold infection. I know that proably dos'nt make much sense. It started as a child kidney infect. strep.and so on As an adult I have had a vaginal and rectal fistula. I always wondered if I have a weak imune system. I know that dosn't really answer your question.Hi Bubba, I'm hardly ever ill, except for RA/PA and complications. I've had 1 cold in 3 years, 1 sinus infection in 3 years, and cellulitus on my leg that cleared quickly with meds. Had a asymptomatic bladder infection that was gone after 10 days of antibiotics. I guess what I'm trying to say is no, I haven't developed or had lingering infections since I've been on dmards and biologics. The cold, sinus and bladder infections are things I probably would have had irregardless of being on meds. Actually, very few infections before the meds. I don't recall about having an infection but I do know when it's that time of the month, my ra gets uglier.I was wondering if anyone has been diagnosed with pheumonia after taking mtx I know they usually check my chest when I come in. I went to Dr today and that's what they said I had. never had this before. I haven't had any bad flares lately. I have been lucky with them just hand and foot pain sometimes.Thanks for the responses.

As a child, i too had all the bad things from bladder infections to kidney infections and strep throat and i were like best friends. I had it every year and when i moved to california at 21, i had it a whole year, they kept trying to give meds to get rid of it but it wouldn't. I then moved back to louisiana and it magically went away.

I was told by a doctor as a child that he didn't know why i got so sick all the time cuz my white cell count was quite high. Back then they didn't check for RA, I am sure that is why my count was so high.

I too have problems with my periods and being horrible worse including extreme pain with them so my doctor is giving me the 3 month shot every 3 months so i never have one again. She said she would do it cuz i kept telling her to rip my uterus out lol. It has been super wonderful, i only have tiny spotting here and there. No more horrible cycles.
