Anyone have "all over" pain...not just joint pain?  I have a hard time climbing stairs or bleechers at the high school sports games. My inflammation is down but I still feel pain everywhere. I started massage therapy and it has helped but I'm still just sore all over. I have had RA for 10 yrs...and am now considered severe. I'm 44 yrs old . I'm only on plaquinel right now..was previously on Remicade and MTX but it didn't do anything for me.  I'm losing flexability and can't rollerblade anymore. Anyone else with the same? Karen

Karen - I had "all over" pain too.  Supposedly, the enzymes are leaking out of my muscles, that is what was causing the muscle pain I had complained of for years.  It's gone now, but it's like feeling you are coming down with the flu every day.  I just finished reading up on the word "inflammation" in Wikipedia as we have a disease of inflammation and it suddenly struck me I had never studied "inflammation".  This is truly a devil of a disease to try to keep under control.  Best of luck and keep posting.  Cathy

Ahhh...Karen, I am very sorry you're hurting so. I know exactly what you are speaking of. I too have this occasionally. It's like the RA projects itself into the muscles as well. Do you have tender shins too? If I squeeze slightly on the side of my shins they are very, very, tender. Even if one of my Shi Tzu pups walks across them, it hurts so bad.

It was suggested to me to take an Epson Salts bath and it would help. Maybe you should give a try as well...I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

I hurt "all over", but I believe it's mainly from the fibro.  Have you ever been evaluated for fibromyalgia? I too have suffered from all over pain for many years before being dx'd in 2006 with sero neg ra. My doctor also said fibro last year because the pain continues.  I was at first diagnosed with what she said was "imflammitory arthritis" I guess she didn't want to jump to the word RA right off. I have started to walk the treadmill when I feel good, which is becoming more and more often, but I really think the prednisone (7.5) and the vicodin are the only things that really help. Good luck and hope you feel better!
