High White Blood Count | Arthritis Information

Has anyone had high blood count due to their RA?  My inflammation is down but they said my wbc is 14. I know it isn't high but i'm concerned that it is higher than what it should be. Is this normal?  KKWhite blood count is usually high with RA, it's a reaction of it.

Any infection or acute stress increases your number of white blood cells. High white blood cell counts may be due to inflammation, an immune response, or blood diseases such as leukemia.

Since i was a child, i have always had high white cell counts.  I wonder if it has something to do with why I never got sick.

bubbagump2008-02-12 16:41:23I just had a Blood test last week. Everything was fine. My sed rate was 7. Liver profile was fine also yet my Dr would not let me take MTX since my white count was highIf your white count is high it usually means that you have some type of an infection present. Thats why the Dr said not to take the MTX. The last time I had high WBC was when I had re-activated mono. But mine were in the 100's.  
 
My last CBC, my WBC was normal, but some other things were slightly elevated. But I looked those up that were slightly elevated and they were probably because of RA.
 
 
Mine is always high.
