OMG I can't believe the news... there was a shooting at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois where I went to college.  Someone opened fire in a lecture hall.  As many as 15 were wounded and the gunman then killed himself.  I had many classes in Cole Hall where this happened. Wow, I hadn't heard about it yet.  Geez, what's with all these crazy people?  Hi Jas, I just saw this on MSN and once again I'm left speecless due to horrific violence.  I don't understand.  LindyWasn't that last shooting in a shopping mall in IL too????

What's going on??

Kelly, do you know anyone still attending?
[QUOTE=arriscolwell]Wasn't that last shooting in a shopping mall in IL too???? Sheesh. Normally I'd be the one to make a joke about it being something in the water...

but this is getting rediculous! Do they know anything about the shooter??? Did they ever catch the shooter from the mall? I wonder if they're connected?? Sounds like a stretch though, doesn't it?
OMG...I went to school there years ago and also used to work at the hospital there too...still have a good friend at the hospital and just talked to him...it was bad.  I am just so amazed...such a small town.  Really sad what is going on in the world lately. I can't imagine Kishwaukee Hospital right now!  They're just not prepared for this!!!

Hell, I live in a rough town... and OUR hospital wouldn't be prepared for this. JasmineRain2008-02-14 18:03:5022 shot , 5 dead . They are saying that the guy did not even go to school there.
The whole thing is just crazy .
JasmineRain,

Actually Kishwaukee just transferred to a bigger hospital...a new hospital was built, and is much larger.  My friend that works there said it was actually not too bad.  They activated the call tree and everyone was called in, but he is home already.  But yes, had this happened in the old hospital, it would have been a nightmare.

I remember some homecomming weekends at the old hospital where I was called in and ended up pulling close to 20 hours, we had patients lined up on gurrneys in the hallways.

I am still just in shock that something like this happened there...
Wow... I haven't been back to visit for a few years, and even then, I didn't have to visit the hospital.
