Kelstev,
I saw your post about getting RSL symptons when on fentanyl patches--I just had to tell you that the EXACT same thing happened to me when I was on the patches--I ended up stopping--I REALLY didn't like some of those "weird" side effects. My doc told me that those RSL symptons were actually withdrawal symptons!!   That really scared me. I had only been on them for about 2 months -- but she said thats how addictive they are. They are stronger then heroin. Thats what scared me--even though I felt super wonderful on them--I stopped them. Then about 6 months later my friends sister-in-law was taking them and she died from an overdose. SCARY!

Also if the patches overheat (like if your sitting in the sun) they release the meds too quickly and you can accidentally overdose that way too.
I feel so bad for people dealing with this issues.
Well--I just wanted to share that with you and anyone else that has been or is still on these patches. They are wonderful and bad at the same time.

That makes sense and seems to be what I experienced.  My doctor suggested fentanyl patches because so far everything else I've tried makes me sick to my stomach.  (although I've since found that taking some tums seems to stop any vomiting I had been experiencing)  I found that the patches made me VERY tired, so my doctor said to keep using them regardless of pain and that problem should go away.  It didn't...but then while trying to cut down on the patches,  I was having that RLS thing going on and couldn't get to sleep.  I now use the patch once a week (3days) and haven't had any problems.  There are times when I'd like to use the patch more often, but I prefer now to take an oxycocet than to use the patch continuously.

I had also read about the problem with any heat (sun, heating blankets...etc)  I don't know how many times I've been freezing here and not remembering about the patch, I've had my heating blanket on and then thinking "oh crap!"

I find they really help...but not sure they're worth the risk...for me anyway.

Thanks for the info, Wysone!
