OT- going to be a sore day tomorrow | Arthritis Information

I just had to share my good news!! My husband and I just signed a contract on our first house today!! I am so excited  But this is the most nerve racking thing  I have ever done. I have a feeling my little flare is going to get much worse over the next month because of stress.

We went ice skating today so I know I will pay for that tomorrow. I was playing around with my old baton a few days ago and I woke up and couldn't move my hands or wrists. I don't know how I did it in high school every day and not to mention at games in 30 degree weather!!
So anyway, if anyone has any good advice about buying a new house I would be glad to hear it!
congrats on the contract, hope everything goes smooth! just remember to get a GOOD house inspector! janlee2008-02-17 15:48:03What a nice feeling, congrats. I bought my first house 14 years ago (I was 21) and I'm still here. I'm raising my kids here and we love it.
Best of luck to you.
CONGRATULATIONS!! Thanks!

Jan, we are having it inspected twice! haha The builders are inspecting it, but I don't trust them so we will have someone we know come in to do it.
Thanks for the advice.

I am so excited!
hahahah I like your advice. I have had some friends offer to help, I think they must be good friends! Most people run away when t hey say you are moving. I think we are just going to pack everything up and pay somene to move it. I figure it's worth it. We moved in our apartment on the 3rd floor just the 2 of us

Wal-Mart, 11:30pm Toy department.

You can get TONS of boxes. They'll give 'em out, cause most people hate using the bailers. They're big and clunky and dangerous. Less boxes means less chance they'll actually have to use it!!!!
Congratulations!  That's so exciting!!  I purchased my first home over the summer and have been so happy with it.  Be absolutely sure you don't over-do.  I didn't do much, but the stress alone can be enough to cause a flare, plus getting used to a new place to live.  Try to stay calm no matter what, and enjoy it!

How exciting for you.  Like everyone has already said, "don't overdue" but enjoy this transition.  Lindy

Lin, it's such a great feeling when you buy your first home. I have the fondest memory's of my first house.  It wasn't all that ,but at the time I was a single mother. The memory's of that house has never faded. Even though I have upgraded since then, owning that home was something special........It was mineWTG Christina!! Take it slow and easy, it will all work out. We "bought" our house in 1989. We have 4 more years and this baby will be paid off! We are already planning a burning the mortgage paper party!
It's so fun to decorate and do anything you want to do.
take care
Thanks guys! I just know decorating will be so fun. I can't wait to paint the walls!!! and buy some furniture. This is what I love to do. I am thinking of it like  a big blank canvas.

Katie-11:30Pm I will be there! hahaha thanks!  Wouldn't have thought of that.
Congratulations Christina!   This is great and exciting news.  I'm glad you're getting the house inspected, that's key.  Enjoy decorating.  It will be great therapy on your down days, to keep your mind occupied with something other than your health issues.  Every time you see a picture of a room you like, rip the page out (unless the magazine belongs to someone else, LOL) and keep it in a folder.  Make notes about what you like in the room to help you learn what your decorating pattern and style is.   Painting the walls is the easiest, cheapest and most dramatic way to start decorating.  Enjoy your new home!LOL I know! You can wander through the other departments too, but toys always has the biggest, most sturdy boxes.

The shift starts at 11pm, but they have to cut open the pallets and sort the boxes first, so they haven't really started opening anything until around 11:30, but if its a slow worker....weeellll it might be midnight. Just a heads up!!

(Have I given away that I used to work in toys???? LOL Was is that obvious???)

haha I was wondering how you knew that.   Thought you stalked the toy department at walmart...that would be creepy.
