question: does anyone get rebound headaches from taking vicoden, it seems like every morning i wake up from a terriable headache. That often happens to me but it never occurred to me that it was from the vicoden.
None here, I don't take it too late in the evening, it interferes with my sleeping.

Those rebound headaches are hard to treat.I have been told by a specialist that treat headaches and he said it was very important not to over medicate when you have a headache,the meds. actually start to create the headaches.But I feel your pain, I have had a headache for a long time now and popping motrin all day.When you are desperate you will do anything.I take alot of vicodan and I don't get headaches from it. I, too don't take it too late in the day because I can't sleep until it wears off.

I have been waking up with a headache every morning. I have Vicoden but I don't take it. I don't like how it makes me feel and I am saving it for flares from hell. I do take darvocett everyday. Yesterday only two but still have headache. You think it is from Darvocett? I am so bummed because rd said I cannot take aspirin. I so miss my Excedrin. I've never had headaches from daily use of narcotic pain meds...but if the one you take has tylenol/APAP/acetomenophin(sp?) in it that can lead to the rebound headaches. I have a major problem with tylenol causing me headaches when I take it for pain. I noticed that after I lost my ins. and fired my doc and started taking tylenol to help even a tiny bit with the pain...but couldn't handle the headaches. And ultracet will do that to me too...but ultram won't. Yes! I don't get them when I first start taking them but if I have to take them for a period of time (a week??) then I do get them and have to reduce the vicoden for a few days. It helps to drik lots of water because they can dehydrate you and that causes headaches too. My sister gets them too. Haven't had any pain meds in a while other than advil hours after I take a percocet (sp?), I get the most awful headache alwaysI don't get headaches from vicodin...I take it to sleep sometimes tho.
