HI guys, just a question to those of you on MTX, I have been getting the MTX injections and am now up to 15mg, even though it is giving me tummy probs, I stuck with the same dose, but I wondered how many of you get incredibly tired the day after and sometimes the next day too, I have slept today for 4 and a half hours and really needed it. Also as the drug wears off towards the day I have the next shot, I feel very tired and irritable. Hi Janie - I'm very tired the day or two after mtx. I take it Tuesday after work and start to feel the tiredness by mid-day on Wednesday and ready for a nap by the time I get home. Thursday's are better, but still tired. I'm pretty controlled with both mtx and enbrel and convinced my doctor to lower my mtx dose to see if it cuts down the fatigue. I'm not sure if the tiredness is from RA or mtx, but leaning more towards mtx since it's pretty consistent in the days that are worse. Congratulations on the "no pain pill" day. Hope your progress continues.
Anyway, I am so pleased to say that for the first time in 2 years I didn't have to take any pain killers today, UNBELIEVEABLE!!!!!!!!! The MTX is really helping, my neck and spine are better too and thats sup[posed to be OA, so could it really be RA? I'm just glad I feel better.

When do you take your weekly MTX injection? If you time it right, you can be tired when you are ready to go to sleep. That night is my best nights sleep. I am just a little tired the next day. I like the MTX for the great night of sleep as for all else it does. I too take it Tuesday, though at work about 2-3 PM. I nod off between 9 tp 10 PM and sleep till the alarm goes off at 7:30AM. Still a little tired but not the fatique that RA gives me. Perhaps you might try to adjust your timing?
