I have been taking Panlor DC lately for my pain.

I always get confussed about the directions on the bottle of my meds.

Example: Panlor DC says "Take 3 times daily."

Dose that mean take it every 8 hours?

Or does it mean I can take another one as soon as the other one wears off, which it wears off within 4 hours, but no more than 3 in a day?

3 times a day generally means every 8 hours or thereabouts. I dont take panclor but I know when I have had other medications that say 3 times daily it means every 8 hours.usually it means spacing them out evenly throughout the dayI'd space it out.....morning, noon & night. As evenly as you can. Don't take two real close together.

How's it working for you? I was prescribed that in my early days....but I didn't have real good results so I stopped it.
Ok... that is what I thought but was not sure about.

I take the Panlor DC every 7-8 hours if I take it more than once in a day.

What help add to my confussion is that Imuran says "Take twice daily by mouth."

RD told me to take them both Imuran tablets at the same time. Then when I told her it made me fell funny when I took them both together, she said to split them up one in morning one in evening.

I also havr Lortabs that say "Take every 6 houes as needed."

Why are all the directions different if they all mean the same thing in the end?

It is not what I would call a "pain killer". I take it because it is the only one I have that does not make me sleepy, but wired. Plus I ran out of Darvacet. And I just can't bring myself to take the Lortabs.
"Twice daily" means 2 times a day. Not 2 at a time. If it was 2 at a time, it would say that.

"Every 6 hours as needed" Basically means, if you don't need it when the 6 hours is up, don't take it. You know "as needed"

Of course docs can always tell you to do it a different way, they know what the real limits on meds are, etc.
