Head too Heavy | Arthritis Information

Yes, folks my head does not seem to be full of air as many people think.

When my neck/shoulder/upper back area becomes stiff & tense, When I go to lay down and then try to raise my head up... it feels like my head weighs 100lbs and is going to snap my neck in 2.

It also feels like that if I am sitting on a couch and have my head leaned back and then when I got to get up it feels like my head weighs 100lbs and my neck is going to snap in 2.
I find when the fatigue is really bad , my head feels the same. Like its way to heavy to lift and carry around. I used to feel like that the next day after taking methotrexate.Yep, I get that feeling too and I have to grab my neck from the back for support when I get up from a lying position because my head feels so heavy that it hurts my sore neck.  Maybe we're just getting smarter and all the extra brains are adding all that weight.  Well your head DOES weigh anywhere from 6-11lbs.

Go pick up a bowling ball and balance it on your palm. Keep it there for an hour.

Not gonna happen, right? Imagine how STRONG your neck and shoulder muscles have to be?? And then to throw something like RA into the mix and you're bound to have moments where your neck goes "HEY. I need a friggin break!"

Well... it should not happen only after sitting up for a little more than 4 hours. I can see if I sat up all day without letting it rest, but 4 hours? I always starts with in an hour of sitting up. I try to move my head around to keep my neck from getting stiff & tense, but if I am somewhere other than home... I do not do it because it just looks weird

I figured my head weighs alot cuz my brain is so big.
