Snowshoing and tender tootsies | Arthritis Information

Thought I'd share that snowshoeing feels pretty okay on tender tootsies!  This year DH and I picked up some snowshoes to help keep us outdoors in the winter.  We've both cross-country skied for years, but he's actually the one side-lined from that for chronic pain reasons (when my feet are good, I can x-country ski now without any pain).

We've been out a bunch of times now and I am happy to report that even if my tootsies are feeling a bit RA tender when I walk just with my boots, they feel better when I snowshoe!  The binding system and snow combine to make a great shock absorption system that cushions the feet as you walk.

So if you've been hesitant to try it, I'd suggest you rent a pair and try it out!

And if you've had the incredible, record breaking snow fall we've had this year, on some days it might be the only way to get to the end of the driveway! :)
Ya know, I don't even like snow or winter, but snow shoeing sounds pretty fun.
