The last couple of weeks just haven't been very good.  One of my Boston Terrier's past away. We had been expecting it for awhile now.  She was 15 and had been having kidney failure. My daughter took it very hard this was her bed mate.  For the first couple of nights she had such a terrible time sleeping. This is the first loss that she has been old enough to really effect her. I know this will be the first of many, it still doesn't make it much easier. To make it worse my grand daughter asks her where Bitzy is. Thanks for letting me get this off my chest.  TerriAw Terri, I'm so sorry.  I know how hard it is to lose such a great friend. And your poor daughter, that's just so sad.  Even when you're expecting it, you're never really ready to say goodbye.Oh Terri, my heart is breaking for you and daughter.  Our pets are like family and it hurts so much to lose them.  It's wonderful that Bitzy had such a long and I'm sure, happy life with you, but I know that doesn't make you feel any better.  I like to think that when we pass on, our beloved pets will be waiting for us.  It's heaven, right?  And heaven can't be complete without our furry family.  Hugs to your family.   Awwww. :( I'm sorry. Losing our pets is SO hard. After all, they're family.

Terri, I'm so sorry.  Our pets are special and it's devastating when when of them dies.  It's especially hard on children.  Our cat of 14 years died last month and I know how difficult it is.  Children just don't understand, all you can do is answer the questions and help them understand.  I'm sure there is a children's book about the loss of a pet and that might help your grand daughter.   LindyI want to thank all of you for all of your thoughts,it's overwhelming, to have people to share this with.  The vet .said she only had 6month's and that was a year ago. You could really see the decline just in the last couple weeks. Iam not sure if she was trying to stick it out for her self or us. At the time I really didn't know how to explain it to Kinsey so we told her she ran away.  Looking back it probably wasn't the best thing to tell her.  Just wanted to say - sorry for your loss.  Just last year we lost our 17-year old cat.  I still miss her - she was my "college roommate."  She had been with me almost my entire adult life! I can't help but smile when our "new" cats manage to find one of her old toys and bat it around a bit. Terri- sorry for your loss, its really a hard thing to deal with as our pets are such a comfort to us and like a huge part of our family. At least she is out of pain now.I'm real sorry to hear about your little dog. I know how much that must hurt. Pet's have a way of moving in and making themselves such a large part of our families. I'm sure his passing has left a huge void. Awww, i'm so sorry for your loss.  It scares me to think of our girls passing away.  I know how pets become family.  God bless.I'm so sorry. Pets have a way of becoming family members especially when they live to such old ages. It will take some time to get used to missing that special presence.

Hope good memories soon crowd out your sad feelings.
