Went back to the pain dr. today. He is the one is said I had Thorasic Outlet Syndrome last time. Anyway, he did his injections--Crazy!

I am not sure what they were. It was not a cortisone shot first off. He got three, Right by the base of the neck, under the collarbone, and right near the armpit(yes, I shaved). It was almost like he inserted and IV needle to each section. He then slowly inserted the liquid. He area took 5/10 min. Then my whole rt. arm was totally numb. Couldn't even move it. I told him I felt like a stroke patient. He then manipulated the arm in all sorts of angles that I can't normally move. Good news-the shoulder joint, while really inflammed, is still in good shape. Muscles are a different story. The inflammation in the chest and shoulder are pulling them. This caused me to hunch a bit. He got all geeked up and went out to get a nurse and a resident. He had me stand up and asked them what side dominant is she? They both guessed wrong. I am rt. side dominant, but my left muscles are much more defined. He then had them feel the muscles-It seems they are way to tight and out of allignment(who knew)?

So,I am back to PT and I see him again in 2 weeks. He did warn me that this will not be a quick fix. He also mentioned surgery-but we are trying to avoid that. He stressed the need to treat this aggressively. It kills me to take a deep breath and I get dizzy spells whenever I look up. I told him I call it the "Target Syndrome". I will be looking at the shelves in the store and-bam-I have to sit on the floor.

So fun day. My rt. hand is back in use(duh, I am typing huh?) But I can't lift the arm on it's own. He said it will be weak for the next day or two and then the pain should be better since all the muscles have been relaxed.

I would say keep my fingers crossed but that still takes alot of effort...maybe tomorrow
That doesn't sound like fun at all!  I hate needles....I'm a big baby...so you did very well in my eyes!  Hope it helps!I am sorry, Rebecca!

I hope the "Pain & Torture" works for you so you do not have to have surgery done.
Joonie, what is the dr. doing for your neck, shoulder issue. I really feel for you...I don't know. She did not say. She said it could be just inflammation pushing on my spinal cord.

I got x-rays done and she gave me Lidoderm patches to put on that area when it hurts like it has been. I will probably know when I go back to her in 6 weeks. Hopefully the x-rays will be sent to her this time. My nuclear bone scan is still MIA.
Rebecca.....YOW!!  That sounds awful.  Did it hurt when he put the needles in?  Even though it truely does sound bad, it's also pretty interesting to read about, thanks for posting it.  I hope the treatment and the PT work so you can avoid the surgery.
