Sleep Problems - Rozerem | Arthritis Information

Ok... so I was RXed Rozerem by RD on my last visit. Because well I am having a hard time sleeping at night. At first I thought it was because I kept sleeping until 4pm on weekends, but that is not it. You would think it was, but it is not.

During the week... I do not sleep at night and actually have to make myself go to sleep after hubby & daughter leaves. I usually only get 3-4 hours sleep before son wakes up, but it is interrupted sleep... phone rings, cat attacks me in my sleep, ect.

So on weekends if we have no where to go or anything to do, I sleep in until my body wakes me up. It is still interrupted sleep, because well... I am just not allowed to have uninterrupted sleep according to my kids & hubby and the phone.

I can try to go to sleep early but if I ever get woke up I am up for the rest of the night and I have actually sat up for over 24 hours because I just could not sleep.

It is kinda like when you get over tired and you try to sleep but can't. That is how I am most of the time.

So... RD gave me Rozerem. Have not gotten it filled yet. Will probably next week.
You are on a high dose of prednisone. You are not going to sleep while on 40 mg of pred. Well at least not very well. But that is an awful feeling. I take medicine to wake up. Then if i take to much or yes if i am in to pain have trouble going to sleep when i want to. But if i do not take the medicine i just sleep all of the time. So hard to find a happy medium. I try but it seems almost impossible to get everything going right at the sametime. Always some sort of challenge. I never took Rozerem. Anyway I hate high dose pred sorry your on high dose pred. It will make you feel better after you get down to a lower level. So mixed emotions i am glad you will feel better later and sorry you can not sleep. No, my maintance dose of pred 10mg.

I am on a pred burst to help get this inflammation off my right knee. I am to do 40mg 3 days, 35mg 3 days, 30mg 3 day, 25mg 3 days, 20mg 3 days, 15mg 3 days and then stay at 10mg.

I do not take my pred until I am really ready for bed, that way it does not keep me awake. Plus there is the added bonus of not much morning stiffness.

But I did just take my first 40mg dose at dinner. Oh well... looks like I am up for the long haul

Thanks for the offer.
