Can you have a slight fever with RA or is that just with Lupus? You can have them with RA, too.  For the first four months I had RA symptoms, I had fevers almost every day.I still have low grade fevers. I had one for a week straight. Temp ran from 99.6 to 99.9 but not any higher. I'm hot blooded and even though temp is in the 22's at night, I sleep with the fan about 3 feet from my face. I am always burning up and sweating when everyone else in the house is freezing. I keep thermastat on 62 degrees it's just right but my family is freezing cold. CRAZY!!!Ok... thanks for the reply. I was trying to decide if I want to embark on taking my temp and log it or not. I know I am prone to infections, because of IC.

I guess I can take it once or twice a day. Heck that is what I bought a new thermometer for, was to see if I had fevers. Which they were slight ones like 99.
Yes that is something alot of people with arthritis have. My temp is always slightly higher then the normal 98.6 and it was like that too when I was younger. I use to get out of school many a time with that one!!!! hee hee
Also many people with RA, JRA are slightly anemic---you definitely have to keep an eye on that one. I use to get really dizzy with that, so I keep an eye on it and get my iron.

Cindee - most times I am cold. but I have times thru the day and night when I just all of a sudden feel like I warmed up, or defrosted. Might have something to do with Raynauds that I was just diagnoised with. But Before I had that, my temp was usually 95-96 and then it started being 99 something one time, but at that time I had reactivated mono, infection. I know. I haven't had one since my son (soon to be 15) was born but my dr kept giving me a hard time. I had to buy razors to shave. I have my "winter legs" I shave the bottom but not the top of my legs in the winter. Hey, maybe after I shave, I won't get some hot and sweaty. LOL Just a thought
I am so not looking forward to the ole pap smear, even just typing those words gross me out.
I agree!!! Did they REALLY have to leave the word "smear" in the title? I mean come on. They couldn't call it ANYTHING ELSE??

smear.

It's just such an icky word!!!! My "regular" temp is actually something like 97.3, so when it started ranging from 98.9 to 100.3 every day, I knew something wasn't right.  Although the every day fevers are gone now, I still get them often enough.Low grade fevers are quite normal with RA symptoms, its a sign of infection. Unless it goes sky high I wouldnt worry about it.If the RA is acting up, my temp runs 0.5 to 1.0 degrees (Farenheit) above normal. Jasmine- mine is the same. I also get a scratchy throat as if I have flu coming, then it goes away. Weird!!!!. I thought it was menopause at firstOh, Lisa, I thought I was the only one who gets that way, feeling like a cold/flu or something is coming on!  Then, I take some Zicam and feel like I have just cured it with one or two doses, as the next day the feeling of an oncoming virus is gone!

As for the fevers, I often feel flushed, red faced and slightly elevated in temp.  Thought it was just me...these boards are WAY too helpful!

Thanks a ton!
Sometimes when we flare and we get temperatures I think our bodies think its the flu coming on, thats why we get achy joints when we have the flu for real. My face also feels flushed , its almost as if I am dehydrated even though I know I have drunk lots during the day. Its a strange disease, many faces to it.
