is it normal when you  walk down steps or bend your knee you can actually hear your knees cracking out loud? mine do and  they are painful and swollen too. i get cortosone shots but they dont help.

It's 'normal' for lots of us. None of my joints are quite! Even my fingers have rice crispies.

Sorry you're hurting.

oh I hate it when that happens!! I will go to get up and I can tell when my knee is going to do the painful pop! It just makes me want to sleep in the computer chair...lol. But I do have to work myself up to actually getting out of the chair and tell myself it won't hurt, it won't hurt then by the time I am on my feet I am yelling it hurt it hurt!! LOL

Oh yeah, it is "normal".

re joonies: "But I do have to work myself up to actually getting out of the chair and tell myself it won't hurt, it won't hurt then by the time I am on my feet I am yelling it hurt it hurt!! LOL"

Oh yeah, I can relate to that.  I even count.  Like, ok, on the count of ten, get up.  I often chicken out and count 2-3 times.

My knees crack ALL the time sometimes it really hurts and sometimes they feel better after they crack-my other joints do too, but especially the knees!!

He would sit there and watch me rock back and forth and count and then he would get tired of me doing it he would eventually just lift me up. Then other times when I was trying to be indepndent he would give me until he got out of the shower...lol.

Most times I did not beat him, I would be sitting in the chair crying because I could not get out of the chair myself.

thanks all, its nice to know im not the only 45 yr. old who cant get out of a chair i have my son or husband  help me up. this makes me feel like my sons grandma never mind his mom

My people at work and my hubby are really good about things like this - the girls at work have a rule for me: if I drop something on the floor, that's where it stays until one of them comes by to pick it up. They got sick of seeing me bend down then not be able to get back up
